Gram's Snow Balls

"Ever year at Christmas my Gram would make her snow balls. She's gone, but making and eating these cookies with my children brings back lots of great memories."

Original Recipe Yield 4 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Mix together all ingredients except the confectioner's sugar. Roll dough into small balls and place on cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes. Roll in confectioner's sugar while cookies are still warm.
