Great tasting recipe and worth the time to grind the oatmeal. I have made a double batch of the dry ingredients, which makes it quick the next time.

Huge hit with my family, including 5 yo and 3 yo DS. I didn't give it a five-star though because I could taste the baking soda even though no one else noticed. I'll definitely make them again and try tweaking the soda/powder amounts.

Why eat any other kind of pancakes, these have real flavor. We double the nuts for more crunch.

Would give it a 4.5 if I could :) 4 stars because the batter was difficult to spread out, but 5 stars because the husband loved it. Will definitely make it again and am passing the recipe along!

My 3 year old and I loved these! I substituted the buttermilk with yogurt, oil with apple sauce, 1/2 c. wheat flour with bran, added 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. We topped with applesauce and they were very yummy!

Fabulous recipe. I used splenda in place of the sugar and threw in some frozen blueberries too. The batter was thick and I had to spread it out but the results were great. Moist, nutty and the flavor of the oats, walnuts and berries was delicious. This is one recipe that I am printing out and passing on to family and friends!

These have become one of our new favorites! We follow the South Beach diet, so I used Splenda in place of the sugar, and also replaced half the oil with ground flaxseed meal. They were a little thin at first, so I added a tiny bit more flour to the batter, and they were perfect.

Does IHOP really serve anything this delicious?? Like other reviewers, I used yogurt and applesauce in place of buttermilk and oil. I also replaced the sugar with 1/4 cup honey. I had a bit of a problem flipping them, until I took the advice of another reviewer and made them small enough so that the whole pancake fit on my spatula. Thanks for the great recipe!

These were a VERY good healthy alternative to a traditional pancake. I substituted applesauce for the oil, and I added 1.5 T cider vinegar to the milk in place of buttermilk. I omitted the sugar altogether and put in 4 pkts of Splenda and one ripe banana. I ground up the oats AND pecans. I added cinnamon and nutmeg, vanilla, and ground flaxseed. These were thick, a little dense, and not hard to flip at all. Use a big spatula!

Great recipe-- I modified with applesauce and fat-free milk with some evaporated to replace buttermilk, egg, and sugar and it turned out superyummy and healthier too!

I love this recipe and have made it twice for family on weekend mornings. However, I subsituted plain fat free yogurt for the buttermilk, applesauce for the oil, and splenda for the sugar and they still were fantastic! This will be a family favorite. Thanks!

Wow! Sooo good - I'm just making up a second batch now because my family ate out the freezer stash. They were a little sweet for my tastes - I drop down to 3 Tbsp sugar. Thank you so much! I'm sure this will be a staple with us :)

Not too bad. I was hoping for a fluffier thicker pancake, however the texture was great. I was low on oatmeal so I had to substitute 1/2 cornmeal. I also added just a bit of cinnamon. My kids enjoyed them and they usually hate it when I "healthy up" a favorite.

My husband loves IHOP's Harvest Grain 'N' Nut pancakes, so I decided to give these a whirl for Father's Day. They were a big hit, and I loved them too! I made the recipe exactly as posted, except for having to make a substitution for buttermilk (lemon juice in milk), and it was fabulous! The pancakes were moist, hearty, and tasty! I served them with butter pecan syrup (you can buy an extract from Watkins or a similar company), and the whole family just loved it. My husband also likes to top his with sliced bananas, which is a yummy option. Just a note: some reviewers seemed to have trouble with the amount of liquid in the recipe. I'm in Utah, where the climate's pretty dry, and my batter turned out thick. We're also at a higher altitude, but I don't know if that makes any difference in this particular instance. Because these recipes are submitted from all over the country, where climates and altitudes vary greatly, the recipes on this site may not turn out exactly as you expect. Adjustments may need to be made. Enjoy this recipe!!

I opted for 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 cup cornmeal, and 1 cup multigrain breakfast cereal (with oats, barley, etc.) and used a mix of roughly even proportions of buttermilk, yogurt and milk for the dairy component. These were DELICIOUS, and had a nice crunch. I think the nuts are necessary, assuming you aren't allergic! Next time I'd like to try adding pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds for a different crunchy taste.
