I first tried this recipe because my friends husband is allergic to orange juice, so i couldn't make sweet potatoes my old way. Well i tossed out my old recipe and have used this ever since! I always make extra topping since that's everyone's favorite part.

The end product was a five, although next time I would cut back on the sugar just a bit. However, the size of the potatoes wasn't specific and when I baked them for 40-minutes (medium sized sweet potatoes), they were hard as rocks...no way they would mash! I baked them an additional 20-minutes and still not done. Finally I cut them up and boiled them in a pot for about 20-minutes, which did the trick. To avoid the stringiness that comes with sweet potatoes, I used a potato ricer instead of the masher. It worked wonders!

I decreased the sugar and brown sugar by at 1/3 (to my own taste) and it came out perfect. I'll definately be making this again.

I and my family loved this! I followed the advice of others and reduced the sugar. I also added craisins to the topic, and it came out very pretty.

Accidentally used brown sugar in the sweet potato, rather than white - very sweet and delicious. The topping is definitely a keeper - next time I think I'll leave the sugar out of the sweet potato completely - it really doesn't need it. The consistency is very good.

Wow! This is like a pecan pie dessert! I didn't change a thing and loved it. It comes out good even if the potatoes are little lumpy. Time comsuming - but worth it!

This got many compliments at Thanksgiving. Boiled the potatoes and left out the cream. I think I'll be making this every Thanksgiving from here on out. The topping is the best!

This was not one of the best that I have tried but it was OK. I will stick to my regular recipe which includes corn flakes in the topping. That is the best.
