I have never made sweet potatoes and decided to try them for a recent birthday dinner. I made these exactly as directed and everyone loved them and asked me for the recipe. Thank you Heather for such a great recipe!!

I used this recipe on Thanksgiving for the first time and then several times since-very good and rich. I omit the pecans-not a nut fan. and put in ramkins with mini-mellows on top and brown with my torch. Presentation is great. Thanks

Best use of a sweet potato ever! New favorite! I cut down the recipe to use just one sweet potato my grandfather gave me- and it was awesome. Thank you!

I make this casserole every Thanksgiving and Christmas and a few other times throughout the year just for fun. This is a family favorite for us. My husband claims that this casserole is the reason he married me. He said it just took one bite and he knew he had to marry me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! Especially the crunchy, delicious topping. My only complaint is that this recipe is a little sweet - I would probably cut back on the sugar a little. However, with less or the same amount of sugar, this is fantastic! Whole family loved it.

This was good, but not exceptional. It's sweet potato casserole, yum but nothing special.

this is so good. Everyone asks for the recipe when I take it somewhere. I love it as is. I wouldn't change a thing.

Do you need to wake up? Try this and it will do the trick. I also used canned yams but it turned out excellent and I didnt use any white sugar because the topping was PLENTY. I actually doubled the topping because I wanted a full covering.

This was pretty good, but I thought the potato mix itself came out pretty dry for me. I steamed the potatoes (a lot faster and more cost efficient than baking to soften). I tend to like a sweeter casserole. I think this would be a good compromise if you have a group of people with different tastes for sweetness.

my husband loathes sweet potatoes. I made this dish for the first time tonight and he enjoyed it so much that he was stealing them off my plate. I couldn't believe my ears when he said that they were "divine"!My brother loved it too. third helpings were had by all. Excellent recipe and so simple to prepare. very rewarding to have made. It was suggested that this could even have been served as desert with cream/ice cream.

My first time ever making thanksgiving dinner, and this was certainly a hit. It was really easy to make. I usually don't like sweet potatoes, but this way they taste absolutely wonderful.

This was stupendous. I've only recently become a fan of sweet potatoes for their nutritional perks, and although they taste fairly good as a baked potato, I've always preferred pumpkin pie over sweet potato pie. This recipe has changed my mind! We bought four potatoes from a farmer's market, so we had to scale the recipe down somewhat. I also lessened the sugar in the filling (but not the topping), and may do so even more next time. The dish tastes more like a dessert than a side dish, but trust me, I'm not complaining. We didn't have any pecans on hand, so we just omitted nuts in the topping all together, but I wish we had had something; I think the crunch would have been a great addition. I'm definitely making this again, and soon!

Oh my gosh this recipe is awesome. I made these for our grilled chicken kabobs and my husband raved about them. Fixed them exactly how the recipe calls for but the potatoes had to cook for about 1 hour before they were good and soft. Will for sure make these again soon. Thank you for the wonderful recipe.

Just to remind everybody, microwaving vegetables removes most of their nutritional value!! Always better to boil, steam, or oven cook them !!

This is my first review after being on allrecipes for quite some time and I must say this is wonderful. It is now our only sweet potato recipe. I also boiled my potatoes to make this easier and it was still wonderful.

Very good! I followed the recipe and didn't think it was "too sweet" like many other reviewers, but I do have a sweet tooth. It really just comes to personal preference.
