Very good butter cake. Like pecans on top for an added crunch.

I'm sure this is amazing I just suck at baking! So for my lower skills it turned out as good as it's gonna get with me!

It was a big hit! Some people, including myself, thought it was too sweet and some people liked it just the way it was. I think next time I'll reduce 1 cup of sugar :-)

This was good but I found the baking time to be a bit long. Next time I will only bake 35-38 min. The "goo" ws a bit over cooked.

This cake is a childhood favorite and Birthday tradition at our house. We know it as "Ooey Gooey Butter Cake". My husband's mother gave it to me on our wedding day. She has since passed and I have kept it going for him. It brings a tear to his eye every year.

I lost my original recipe years ago. But for a twist use lemon cake mix and lemon extract in place of the vanilla extract. Also these really need to be eaten after they cool. The flavor is much more intense. Enjoy

This turns out a little different each time I make it but always WONDERFUL! Aftre the cake cools completely I sift more powdered sugar to cover the top. I've even tried using a marble cake mix which is great and adds a little twist. Gooey butter cake is a big thing in our area and everyone loves this much more than any store bought version they've ever had!

This was the 1st time I made a cake like this and it came out amazing! I followed the directions to a T and I sifted the powdered sugar before measuring. I will be making this again.

This cake was YUMMY!! The only cream cheese I had on hand was the cinnamon swirl, and it had even been used, so it wasn't full. I added a little extra cinnamon to the cake mixture and threw in a half bag of chocolate chips. I'm sure the recipe as-is is still delicious, but using what I had on hand, it still turned out amazing!

Very good, is a little too sweet so I followed some of the reviews and added chopped pecans which helped balance out the flavors. I only used 2 cups of sugar and added 1/4 cup of melted butter to the filling as per the Paula Dean recipe (her recipe called for 1/2 cup of butter)

Took reviewer's suggestions and only added 3 cups confectioner's sugar. I love things sweet, but 3 cups was definitely sweet enough.

This recipe was delicious. My husband wants me to make another one this weekend. I listened to the advice of several reviewers and cut back on the sugar (only used 2 1/2 cups) it was still very sweet but excellent non-the less.

All I can say about this is it is utterly sickeningly sweet. We love desserts but this is way too sugary. My daughter had heard about this from friends and wanted to make something delicious for our family but thought it way too sweet and rich even for her.
