added 3tsp vanilla extract, cut back the salt to 1/2 tsp because i use sea salt (saltier taste than table salt), mixed milk/egg separate, then added vanilla to that, then drizzled it in to the dry ingredients while gently mixing, then drizzled the melted butter in likewise. it is a really thick batter, but i don't understand how people are saying its not cooked in the center unless they are making them plate-sized? - i made mine abt 3-4" diameter, like i do all my pancakes, and they cooked fine. did not taste bitter at all, so maybe the people saying it had some old baking powder? not sure - they weren't too sweet either, just right. they turned out thick, fluffy, and very filling. will definitely be making these again - maybe next time i'll try with a GF flour blend to make them better for me.
