This is a great recipe! Thanks for sharing it! Of course, I did make some changes according to what I had on had. Boiled the gnocchi. For the sauce, I had two cans of tomato sauce, 1 can of diced tomatoes. I added dried herbs (basil, oregano, and parsley) and fresh garlic to the sauce and added frozen meatballs, as I didn't have any sausage. Spooned some sauce on the bottom of the pan. Then put down all the gnocchi in a single layer. Then put down chopped up provolone cheese (deli style, cut up small). Mixed about a half bad of fresh spinach into the sauce mixture and stir gently until it wilts. Then spooned the meatball/spinach sauce mixture on top. Sprinkled a little more provolone and some parmesan on top of the whole thing.
The point is... this recipe is very easily adaptable to what you have on hand. Delicious! It's a keeper!
