My husband and I thought this was way too sweet. Maybe a meat cake instead of a meat loaf.

This was okay. I might not make again. I was not too crazy about the crunchy onions in the meatloaf. Every other meatloaf I've tried doesn't have the crunchy onions in it. I really liked the glaze on the meatloaf. It was sweet and tasted like barbeque sauce. My husband didn't even want to try it because of the overpowering smell of mustard and the look of the crunchy onions really tipped him off to not try it. If I make this again, I will use the dried minced onions instead.

This meatloaf was wonderful. My boyfriend and I loved it! I did however add 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs along with the 3 piece of bread. I also added a can of tomato soup. I used half of the can of soup in the ketchup mixture for the glaze and added the rest into the meat mixture. It was delicious!

Using the bread in the bottom of the pan is an excellent idea. I made extra glaze like some of the others recommended- it was wonderful. My favorite part of making meatloaf is having leftovers to make meatloaf sandwiches- don't count on leftovers with this recipe! : )

I have been married for a lil over 12 years and this is the first meatloaf that did not fall apart and that my husband has had seconds of. This was a hit with the whole family and I did double the glaze as everyone else did it was sweet and tangy and the kids loved it. Will make it in the future many times in the future!!!!

This is a great recipe but i cut back the brown sugar to our taste. My children hated meatloaf before this recipe. Now they don't miss this meal, even though they play sports we eat late on those nights. This is GREAT

The BEST meatloaf I have ever had. I made the recipe as stated and my daughter was freaking out when I added lemon juice, but the whole family really enjoyed it (My year old son and two year old grandson, especially). Very good thank you.

I was craving a meatloaf and decided to give this recipe a shot - I'm glad I did! I doubled the glaze, but other than that, I didn't change a thing and it came out terrific! We did not have any leftovers. Also, thanks to whoever suggested putting two slices of bread under the loaf to soak up the fat - worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing!

I was Challanged to make my first ever meatloaf (i don't eat beef!) by my very picky (and honest) boyfriend. I found this recipe and adapted a few things according to the reviews and it came out AMAZING..even i tried some! I got rave reviews and it was SO EASY to make with my busy schedule! My adaptions: omitted mustard for lack of.. almost doubled the ketchup til the sweetness level was correct (you'll want extra of this great sauce anyway!).. 1 cup breadcrumbs instead of bread.. and added a little garlic powder and black pepper! Its made me re-think the boring meatloaf image forever!

This meatloaf was good, but the sauce was too sweet and the rest just tasted ordinary. The large number of ratings led me to believe that this was going to be one of the best meatloafs ever but it just tasted like something I've thrown together in the past without a recipe and minus the really sweet sauce. I will try another recipe from this site next time.

Pretty tasty. Used French fried onions instead of reg. onions and bread crumbs for the bread slices. Will make again.

This was my first attempt ever at making meatloaf. It's a shame I think that meatloaf in general seems to have kind of a bad rep. It is so easy and tastes great. My family (including 3 kids) loved this recipe. Will definately be a regular meal in our household!

I first made this dish while studying abroad in Italy. While the food there was fantastic, my roommates and I were craving a bit of home. This meatloaf hit the spot. Beyond amazing. Two years later and I still get requests for the recipe. The recipe has also been a success stateside for the picky eaters in the house.

My husband and my son always asked for this dish! Its easy to prepare and doesnt take long to cook. I add a can of tomato sauce and a touch of ketchup to the recipie because my husband doesn't like it that sweet.(I always have to make extra sauce for my son) I also chop the onion smaller and tear the bread cumbs into smaller pieces. You can also add italian style bread cumbs and make it into small balls for spagetti and meatballs.

My "I hate meatloaf" husband LOVES this recipe! This is almost identical to the recipe my mother used many moons ago, but I couldn't convince him to try it. I finally just went ahead and surprised him and now he and my kids love it. We rarely have leftovers and I triple the recipe!
