INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1 1/4 cups soft bread crumbs
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup water
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, beat eggs and milk. Stir in bread crumbs and horseradish. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. Place in a lightly greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
In a large saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; add the meatballs. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

These were delicious. I took the advice of others and only used 1/2tsp of allspice and everyone loved them. thought these did end up not staying together too well but it turned into a magnificent sloppy joe.

Really yummy and great for a party. I used ground pork instead of beef and didn't use allspice at all. I thought the sweet/spicy balance was right.

Pretty good, The meatballs themselves are great, and the sauce is really interesting (Love the maple!) But too much Allspice. If I make again I'll just put 1/2 to 1 tsp in.
