Meh. Not only was this nothing like any goulash I've had before, the gingersnap flavor was nonexistent (I was thinking this would be similar to a sauerbraten-tasting goulash and is the flavor profile I was hoping for). Additonally, the ratio of meat / liquid is totally off. There is simply way too much liquid for the amount of meat called for. Goulash should be hearty and thick, not soupy. Even after halving the liquids, this was terribly thin (the gravy nearly drowned the potatoes on my plate). Served with three-bean salad and pickled beets (to mimic the salad plate my local German restaurant serves with their entrees), pumpkernickel bread and German beer, this was an OK meal. I'll take a pass on a repeat tho. Thanks anyways, Diane.

This was really quick and easy - Nice flavor but I would have preferred it a little more gingery. There was alot of liquid so cutting back would be suggested. I had used about 2/3 of the amount required and it was still thin. Just scooped it out with a slotted spoon. Excellent over mashed potatoes.

Very flavorful. I used only 2 cups of water. I would use even less next time. I cooked in the crockpot. Meat was soo tender!

I was really excited to try this recipe but it just didn't work for me. It didn't taste like Goulash instead it was more like Ketchup Soup. I'll keep looking.

Delicious!!! I halved the juice and everything that goes in it but left the meat the same amount and there was plenty of sauce. It thickened up nicely! Perfect served over mashed potatoes. Thanks!

Delish!! But more of a gravy than a goulash in my opinion. Perfect served over mashed potatoes.

I agree that it's very easy, very tasty, but definitely doesn't need quite so much liquid unless you want more of a "chunky soup." Would definitely make again! Good winter comfort food!

Very easy and very tasty. Only negative - far too much liquid. Next time I make it I will either add more meat than the recipe calls for or cut back on the liquid.

Unbelievable! Isatrted this on the stove and after an hour transfered it to the crockpot. I let it cook on high for about 3 hours and it was DELICIOUS. Nice thick broth. I did add 1/2 a chopped red bell pepper to the sauce when I put it in the crockpot. Other than that NOTHING was changed.
