These were just ok. Tasted like an undercooked, flat, gooey, ultra rich brownie. I only used 1/2cup of choc. chips and they were still VERY sweet. I wont be making these again and thats not to say these were bad because they werent. i can see how someone with a sweet tooth would like these. Just not for us.

Sorry, but these were so sweet. To say they're "rich" is an understatement. I love German Chocolate cake, but the flavors in these are so concentrated that they just taste like 100% sugar. In addition, the recipe says to refrigerate them for 4 hours before cutting them. When I did that, it was like trying to cut through hard cement! We ate about 3 of them.

Very good, and so simple! The kind of dessert that I can make on a whim with stuff I usually have on hand.

I thought these were too sweet and sort of hard. I won't likely make these again.

These were messy, delicious treats. I will probably stick with them instead of making the cake in the future!

Very easy and pretty good! I followed the recipe exactly. I'm not sure why it says to refrigerate 4 hours before cutting. I did that and they were extremely hard making it difficult to cut. When softened up to room temp, they're chewy and much easier to cut. Make sure to grease the pan well, if the frosting touches the sides as it bakes it will really stick.

Everyone loves these. I am asked for the recipe all the time. My daughter made them after trying them at my house and now she makes them for potlucks because they are always a hit. The bonus is they are very easy to make.

OH.MY.GOODNESS! These are SO yummy! I spread out the frosting and the remaining batter on top so tht the bar comes out with a "dry" top so it is easy for mailing. Otherwise the frosting would ooze through which would make them a bit messy for shipping. These are VERY good and VERY easy!

These are really good but SUPER sweet! I baked in a smaller pan so increased the time a little and I wish I hadn't done that because then the buttered cake crust was a little over-done. Still- very addicting!

I used candied cherry & candied pineapple (soaked in rum over night) instead of chocolate chips. Wonderful!

I brought these to a neighborhood Oktoberfest and they were very popular with adults and kids. Yum! like eating a candy bar. Next, time I will add a bit more milk to the top layer to help it spread while it bakes, otherwise, delicious! Thanks for the recipe, I'll use it again and again.
