Ingredients

  • 6 cups toasted bread crumbs
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/3 cups butter, melted
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, eggs, butter, milk, salt, and allspice into a smooth dough. Roll into golf ball-sized pieces.
  2. Cook by dropping into a boiling soup or broth. Simmer until they float to the top.
