"My niece asked me to make some edible sand for her son's first birthday to go along with the Finding Nemo® theme and this is what I came up with. Even the party guests were fooled. This is great for kid or adult themed beach parties. For a lighter colored sand use more sugar."

What I liked the most about this recipe is how budget friendly it is. All the recipes online wanted toasted coconut which was way too fancy for sand that was basically serving as a decoration for my son's Finding Nemo party. Everyone couldn't get over how much this looked like real sand!!! People were putting it on top of their cake and ice cream once they heard it was edible. Tasty and esthetically pleasing! Great recipe!
