I am a complete potato head and this was just delicious! I used 12 potatoes varied in size and 5 cloves of garlic due to previous reviews stating the flavor was too subtle. I also added a little more milk and butter than called for to make it creamier even though I left it somewhat chunky. I couldn't get enough of them, and made a potato pancake with the leftovers in the morning for breakfast. Thanks for such an outstanding recipe!

These were awesome. I didn't know if I would really like garlic in my mashed potatoes but it was great! I decided to melt the butter in a pan and grate up about 4-5 garlic cloves-I cooked it slowly for about 10 min. Drained the potatoes and added the garlic/butter mixture. Covered the pan back up and took the same pan and warmed the milk. I left them chunky and added a little more butter at the end with the cheese and I couldn't get enough of them. Definately going to be a regular in my home. Thanks a bunch!! :)

The best mashed potatoes ever!! i made them for thanksgiving and a couple other family functions and everyone who tried them absoloutly loved them. The only thing I changed was the 1/2 cup of milk. I used sour cream instead and it made them that much more creamier. YUMMY!

Really tasty and easy to make. We loved them. I did about 3 cloves of garlic with 6 medium potatoes though, for extra flavour.

Delicious. My first time making Garlic Mashed Potatoes and they turned out great. I took the advice of another reviewer and added some fresh oregano. Served with Sirloin Marinara from this site. My 4 year-old gave rave reviews and he doesn't like potatoes. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Just finished dinner and this was a big hit along side our meatloaf. Followed the recipe except used half and half instead of milk. No leftovers!

Very good! Creamy and flavorful, although the garlic didn't come through too much so next time I will increase it.

very good. Had to add more sour cream and milk than it called for to make it really creamy. Garlic was good. Could have added another clove. Boiling it with the potatoes was a nice way to add that flavor together.

These were really good!... I will always make my potatoes like this from now on... I used 1 1/2 tsp of minced garlic instead and I put it in when only 10 min. of boiling was left for the potatoes... I also used garlic salt instead of regular salt... and added a few dashes of oregano...scrumptious!

These are really good - i didn't have real garlic on hand so i added some jarred minced garlic, cheat-roasted by microwaving for 45 sec in olive oil(stolen tip from another user on this site). I always leave the skins on, they look and taste great.
