Not one of my favorite recipes. I found them to be okay, nothing I would make again.

I love creamy mashed potatoes and garlic, so I figured this recipe would be fantastic. Unfortunately, there was too much butter, garlic and cheese, and it tasted like Alfredo sauce - all the potato flavour was gone! It end up being something you could pour over pasta, with no potatoes in there whatsoever! So, I won't try it again. The only thing I did differently was that I sauteed the garlic.

My 15 & 17 year old children say these are the best mashed potatoes they have ever tasted. I do add a little extra garlic, and have used a variety of cheeses. They love it every time I make it. Thanks for a great and easy recipe.

This recipe is awesome! I loved the romano cheese and it had just enough garlic flavor. I will make this recipe again.

I did this recipe for 2 lbs of small red potatoes. I used a 1/2 cup of butter, 2 oz of romono cheese, and 3 cloves of garlic, which was less than a tablespoon, a tsp. of salt and a tsp. of oregano. The whole family enjoyed these potatoes including my 18 yr old son who never eats them in restaurants. He said I could make them again. I don't thikn our family would want the full amount of garlic. I will definately make these again!

These were good and my one guest really liked them. However, I did not care for the oregano in them - I woudl make again but without the oregano - too grassy of a flavor for me.

I have only eaten garlic mashed potatoes in restaurants and this recipe makes it super easy to make them at home. I too, roasted the garlic but other than that followed exactly. The only thing i will do differently next time is to add a bit of milk to moisten slightly. Delicious side dish.

I had no milk so I figured this would be the perfect recipe and it is! I just boiled the potatoes and chopped garlic together. Then added butter and cheese. It was delish!

Husband said he thought these were the best he'd ever had....so there ya go. :) On my side I halved the butter and did a mix of parmesan and romano. I also followed the suggestion of another reviewer and roasted the garlic - although differently than she suggested. I strip each clove down and drizzle with olive oil then wrap loosely with foil - but the foil is completely closed so all steam would stay inside the pouch - and roast for 40 minutes at 375 F.

Very tasty. As other reviewers suggested, I roasted the garlic. And I did take the skin off the poatotes. I was a little short on butter, so add a drop of milk to make up. Put the cooked potatoes, the roasted garlic, cheese, oregano, butter and milk into the 'mixie and it came out so smooth and yummy. Great recipe.. will definitely be making it again :)

Anyone who doesn'tlike this recipe either didn't make it right or they just don't like garlic mashed potatoes!! It was excellent. I used parmesean instead of romano cheese because I only had parmesean and it was fine. I made enough for 2 and roasted the garlic per another reviewers instructions - yummmmm. I didn't use the mixer to make the potatoes creamy - I just mashed them with a spoon and they had small chunks of potatoes - just like the restaurants do. They were awesome. I served the slower cooker london broil from this site over the potatoes. Thank you for a great recipe and soooo easy.

Great recipe. The whole family loved it. I used parmesan cheese since I did not have any romano. Served this with a Salisbury steak recipe on this site. Great combo. These are def. the best mashed potatoes I have made.

HOLY COW! Best mashed potatoes I've ever had! I halved it since I cook for 2 ppl, reduced garlic by 1/4 tsp, but added dash of garlic powder. A little less salt, and 4oz of butter, 2 oz margarine. I used parmesan since no Romano on hand. I also used the hand mixer and mixed until creamy. THANK YOU FOR SHARING, IT WILL BECOME A STAPLE IN MY COLLECTION!
