OMG I just finished making these potatoes and couldn't help myself but try some- HOLY SMOKES, they taste better than the restaurants make them. I can't wait to feed them to my fiance when he gets home. Thank you so much! I also roasted the garlic first (also love how it makes the house smell). Definitley five stars from me!

Well,I made this dish today, and it is good but I think it could be improved on. I think garlic powder can be used in place of chopped garlic.

OMG these were gooood! I scaled down to 6 servings and only used about one stick of butter...everything else I followed to a T. I'm Irish & Italian and I love when a dish takes from both cuisines ;p Thanks =)

KILLER! Reduced for 20 people. Obviously not good for you, but you can kinda figure that out from the ingredients :) Super tasty and super easy.

These potatoes tasted great, but I was grossed out by the large amount of butter.

I'm only giving it 4 stars because I had to make some changes; I didn't have romano cheese at hand so I mixed equal parts of parmesan and mozarella, I also followed suggestions of adding extra garlic. The touch of oregano was perfect. Very yummy!

My husband LOVES garlic mashed potatoes! The steak house that we worked at had good garlic mashed potatoes, but we like these even better! I use garlic powder instead of real garlic, add a little onion powder, use russet potatoes and cheddar cheese rather than the more expensive romano. I just kind of eyeball how much to use for 2 people, I usually use 3 potatoes and get a lot! I really recommend this recipe to go with steak, we usually grill some bacon wrapped filets to go with these.

At first I had forgot to change the quantity to 10 servings, but had already reduced the potatoes to 5 lbs. potatoes, so when I added 3 cups of garlic... oops! My brain was really not on straight! So I decided to just go with it and just drained the water about 15 mins. into boiling, then added fresh water to the potatoes and resumed boiling... somehow it still ended up fabulous! Excellent, thank you!

This was good...I sized it for 4 servings and only used 1/2 tablespoon of garlic (less than half of what the recipe called for). I think it would have been over-poweringly garlicky if I'd used the full amount.

i love red potatoes and this was a very good recipe! Think I may need to tweak it a bit more, though, given I scaled it from 100 servings down to 8. I used nearly an entire bulb of roasted garlic, and think I could've used more. After all, can you ever REALLY use too much garlic? ;) Thank you for the recipe!

I will be making this again and again. We are garlic lovers in our house so I had to triple the garlic quantity. Otherwise it tasted just like the garlic mashed potatoes I have eaten at steak houses!

Wow...not your every day mashed potatoes. What an awesome recipe. I did use the roasted garlic though (I love roasted garlic - used a whole head) and since I had some fresh guyere cheese, I grated some and added added it along with the Romano. Yummmmm this was soooo good! I had to edit this a second time because I've made it several times now and this is soooooo good. We have a dinner party for 20 coming up soon and my husband said he doesn't care what else I serve, but this is the ONE thing he wants to have. You can't go wrong with this one!

That was one of the best tasting mashed potato dishes I've had. I didn't have all the required ingredients, so I replaced some of the ingredients with ones I had on hand. I used russet potatoes and added sour cream and garlic salt because I didn't have enough garlic. Following other reviews, I boiled the garlic cloves and they tasted great. I also used half butter and half margarine. Because I added garlic salt, I didn't add regular salt or oregano. I also didn't have any romano, but the sour cream did a great job of replacing it. The potatoes turned out delicious. This recipe is definitely a keeper.
