added SMALL amount of onion while sauteeing, and some parm cheese just before baking. could have done more, but this was for ceaser wraps, and i didnt want the flavor to be overpowering. YUM!!! and efficient!

Such simple ingredients, but such a perfect crouton! I do add a few sprinkles of salt before popping them in the oven. I haven't bought croutons in the box since I tried this recipe.

So yummy!! I did something a little different though. I cubed the bread. Then put butter and garlic (added some parmesan cheese) in a pan, on very low heat. I put the bread in a garbage bag added the butter mixture and shook it up like shake and bake. The kids had fun helping with this~ then baked them a little longer than it said, but they are soooooo good. I will make these all the time.

I don't really care for croutons much, but I decided to try this recipe because I had some left over homemade wheat bread...and my fiance' adores croutons! This recipe made some AMAZING croutons though, and I loved eating them!!! I used galic herb & italian seasoning instead of the minced garlic. The flavor was very real and alive...a mouth full of taste!

I love these. I make these quite often since they are so easy & taste a lot better then store bought. I usually make up a large batch and keep them in my freezer for salads and soups too.

I save the ends of my bread machine loaves in a plastic bag in the freezer. Once I have 6-8 ends saved up I cube them and prepare the recipie as indicated. If I am going to use the croutons for soup garnishes, I will sprinkle with worstershire sauce prior to baking.
