A good muffin that is full of chocolate and not too sweet!

This was okay not the best. the semi-sweet choclate chips were a little to over powering. They didn't rise up enough. You could really taste the cinnamin in them though. Very sweet. I don't think I'll be making these again though. But other people in my family gave it 4 stars.

These are pretty good, kind of a cross between a cupcake and a muffin, as another reviewer noted. They don't rise very high, but they are not super moist either. They are very sweet, which is not something that bothers me all that much, but I've definitely got a love of sweet. I don't know...these are sort of an odd ball. I wouldn't recommend them for breakfast, but they wouldn't quite cut it as dessert either.

An excellent muffin...my kids love chocolate chip muffins and these are a new favourite. The apple sauce was a great idea and gives the muffins moisture but cuts down on fat. I have made them twice in two days!

These muffins were surprisingly delicious. I thought the chocolate intensity was just fine. I will make these again.

After reading the other reviews, I increased the cocoa to 1/2 cup. That ended up being a little too chocolately, and I'm the biggest chocaholic there is! They were still delicious though, but maybe not for breakfast. They're much better warm, as they get a little too crusty after they cool. Overall, a great recipe!

This is one of the best recipies I've ever tried. They are a huge hit with my family. Thank you Sue for the fantastic recipe! I did add the cinnamon and powdered sugar on top. My daughter LOVED Them.

Not my favorite muffin. The texture and moisture content were fine. I don't know if it was the applesauce or what that just wasn't right. It wasn't chocolatey enough for me,(and I am not a chocoholic at all.) and there was an unusual tartness. Perhaps omitting the applesauce and just using oil (of course, upping the fat content in the process) and adding a little more cocoa might help. I bake for my husband's staff on the weekends he works and thought I would add a chocolate muffin to go with the others I made. Next time I think I will just try either a brownie recipe to go all the way or maybe tweaking the "Best Ever Muffins" (a great starter recipe) and add chocolate chips. Worth a try, but I probably won't repeat.

the taste is good, if somewhat sweeter than you expect; they don't rise much and don't remain moist. must try with some more baking powder next time...

When I saw all of the positive reviews for these muffins, I thought I'd found a winner. Boy was I wrong. The muffins are very sugary tasting, bland, and lacking in chocolate flavor. Fudgy was definitely the wrong adjective to use in the name, because there is nothing fudge-like about them. I was expecting something more rich and flavorful. Definitely one of the worst chocolate-chocolate chip muffins I've ever tasted. I won't be making these again.

Really good "muffins" I would call them rich cupcakes but it's a fine line. Really good with raspberry chocolate chips.

These are VERY GOOD. I didn't add cinnamon or powdered sugar, and after they cooled a bit the tops were crunchy/crispy - yum! My chocoholic husband thought they were great and so did my 2 little girls. Next time I might try adding less chocolate chips and see if anyone notices! Thanks for a great recipe.

I am always looking for low fat recipes to try and/or adapt. I tried to make this recipe even lower in fat by using just 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine (even though it recommends not to use for baking, I used "I can't believe it's not butter LIGHT"), and added two extra tablespoons of applesauce. I also added just a half cup of chocolate chips, and used milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet. I also didn't add the cinnamon or powdered sugar, and it still came out really tasty...A really good recipe!

This recipe was a surprize to my family! I had some applesauce that I wanted to use up so I tried this recipe. My family loved it! Even my hubby, who I use as a guide for the kid friendly rating loved it. He usually says no fat, no flavour. Not this time!

Very yummy & fudgy! I put the cinnamon in the muffins but I prefer them without it. My kids loved them and so did I since I'm a chocolate freak! Thanks

This is a very good muffin. Be sure to use the paper muffin liners as it is difficult to get them out of muffin tin intact. The tops came off on a few but you can salvage with peanut butter to re-attach. All in all a good one to keep in recipe co;;ection.
