Fudgy Brownies
SUBMITTED BY:
June Formanek
"'I've made these moist brownies many time and they're always a hit,' relates June Formanek of Belle Plaine, Iowa. If your family doesn't gobble up the whole pan, you can use the leftovers in the sweet treats that follow."

This is our favorite recipe with minimal modifications. I use 1 1/4 cups flour and when I want them to be a little less dense (rise a little) I add 1/8 cup milk. I don't beat the batter with an electric mixer. I think it turns out fine when mixed with a fork or wisk. The chocolate chips are optional, this is a great brownie without them, but if you are serving the brownies warm the melted chips are a bonus.

These brownies turned out FAN-TAS-TIC!! They were so moist and chewy, and they were the perfect balance between chocolate cake and chocolate fudge. The experts (my 4 kids!) loved them, too, so I'll be storing this recipe as my new favorite. The only change I made is that I omitted the nuts. (Not by my choice - why do kids dislike nuts??) Next time I'll make half the pan nutty and the other half nut-less for them! :)

Not bad, but not good either. It needed more chocolate, it was very plain.
