These were very popular at the 2 places I brought them. I have already been requested to make them again for a future function. I will leave out the walnuts next time because I think the fudge would be better smooth since the oatmeal provided so much texture. They were better the second day than the day I baked them, so plan to make them ahead

VERY rich and fudgy! I don't know how anyone would manage to fit all the ingredients into a 13x9 pan, let alone eat one of the resulting bars - it would be overwhelming! In the pan required in the recipe, these are perfect. I didn't change anything except not adding the nuts, since we don't really care for them. Very good recipe!

I used parchment paper. Also I doubled it to make 2 pans 9x13 but then did another single recipe of the oat/flour to top the two! No nuts was terrific! Use wax paper to spread the oat/flour. It took longer to prep than stated but was worth it!

yummm.....the fudge is amazing and goes so well with the oatmeal cookie base! keep tightly covered because the oatmeal topping does dry out easily.

We did not enjoy the texture of these bars. The Chocolate is to creamy and the "crust" is to soft. Makes for a mushy bar.

Love these bars, I add 1/2 tsp of almond extract to the oat mix and also to the chocolate mixture and put sliced almonds in the oat mixture, mmmm. Every where I take them, people love them.

WILL MAKE AGAIN! Less salt in the fudge filling. I am going to try 1/4 tsp the next time. Also, I am going to use milk chocolate chips the next time. I didn't use any nuts. I like them but not my family.

Like others said... the first day is amazing and the 2nd day is even better!! It can be refrigerated and still temptingly yummy all week! For a refreshing variation, try using mint chocolate chips!
