This got devoured when I took it to work this week. I thought the outside was a bit dry but everyone raved about it. I think next time I'll just bring a gallon of milk along! I'll for sure make it again though!

These were tasty, but not a huge hit at our house. The oatmeal cookie globs on top made it difficult to cut the bars. It definitely needs a big glass of milk to go with it.

I used to buy something similar to this at a coffee shop and loved them. When I saw the recipe, I had to make it. My daughter calls them the Devil's bars because they are so good she can't stay out of them. I did not add the nut because some of the family does not like them. They were awesome!

These bars are rich and delicious. I used unsalted butter and 1/2 semi-sweet and 1/2 milk chocolate chips. Baked in a 9x13 pan. Took these to a family reunion. The only thing I brought home was a pan of crumbs.

These were great!! I halfed the recipe bc it does make a lot. I put half the oat mixture in the pan, sprinkled white chocolat and semi-sweet chocolate chips on top, then spread the rest of the oat mixture on top. I topped with a few mini chocolate chips and a bunch of slivered almonds. It was wonderful!

These are delicious! I replaced half of the flour with whole wheat with no problems. I did find that they were much better served warm than at room temperature. Nothing a few seconds in the microwave can't fix though!

YUM. I, too, made this in a 9x13 pan and the bars are thick and yummy. I baked them until the top was golden brown, which didn't really require extra baking time from the original recipe. Other things I would recommend are putting parchment paper in the pan, and using wax paper to spread the oat mixture crust. The only change I would make, and this is tiny, is to only save about a cup of the oatmeal mixture to drop on the top - 1/3 of it was a bit too much. Great bars!

These are so delicious! I made them as written except I left out the nuts since my daughter is allergic. They were irresistable! I spread the remaining oatmeal/butter/brown sugar mix over the top so it covered all the chocolate. The first time I used a bag of milk chocolate chips and the second batch I used a bag of semi-sweet chips....both were equally good. This will become a family favorite, for sure!

I have been making these bars for many years. I stopped putting the oatmeal on the top. They still turn out good. I still make these bars with chocolate chips, but I also substitute butterscotch chips instead of the chocolate chips. The butterscotch mixture will be thin, but it will bake just the same. If you like butterscotch, you will like these. Jo K.

The fudge part of this recipe was yummy! I substituted 2c whole wheat flour for the bar part and added a little cinnamon. I think I may have cheated the vanilla extract and they came out a little bland, so don't short it! A few were forgotten in the pantry for a little while and I think they tasted better- I bet these would freeze well.

I made this recipe for a work get together and everyone loved them! I used fat free sweetened condensed milk and 25% less calorie butter and even marketed them to those who stated they weren't allowed to eat desserts!

I didn't have any walnuts,so put in pecan pieces. Wouldn't do that again, think it would have been better with the walnuts, or no nuts at all. Put into a 9x13 pan, and cooked for 5-6 minutes longer. Overall pretty good.

I doubled the recipe and baked in a 19x11 pan for 35 minutes, came out great. The only change I made was toast the walnuts before adding them to the fudge. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but everyone loved them!

I really liked this recipe. I didn't put in the nuts though and thought it was great. I used a 9x13 pan because I didn't have the one the recipe called for. I just had to cook it for a little longer until the topping was a desired consistentcy.
