I found these to be delectably fudgy!! A superb brownie. I made them without the nuts, trying to develop of sort of "brownie pop" that I could use as favors. I found my recipe! And so easy to prepare!

This recipe was very good, my brownies turned out so beautiful! All though i did make a few adjustments. I used self risisng flour instead of the baking soda, salt and all purpose. I also used one egg less then the recipe calls for and i used semi sweet cocoa powder instead of the squares. They turned out very good! nice and moist and chewy! so good! Just be sure and check them b/c this recipe calls for too long of a bake time!

Hate to say it but, same thing happened to me. Sugar rose to the top and formed an ultra sweet thin crust and didn't cook underneath. The color is too milky not dark and fudgie looking. It also sunk in the middle. Not very brownie at all. Still searching for for homemade fudgie brownies.

The other person who posted MUST have done something wrong. Mine turned out almost perfect. The baking time was too long for my oven though. I still prefer to frost them, but they were very good. Cake-like brownies. These were not the chewy super moist brownies. Easy to cut and serve. Very good, but needs frosting if you like your brownies really sweet.

Wow... I thought this was going to turn out really good and delicious but it wasn't. First of all, all the sugar in the batter went to the top so when it baked it had a crunchy top. Second of all, the brownies didn't even bake!! I took of the sugar top and let them bake, but it still didn't turn out good. It didn't taste anything like brownies.
