These cookies were fantastic, they tasted just like my Mom's fruitcake only better! I added 3tbsp lemon extract at the end of mixing, which made them perfect. I will be making them again, the whole family loved them.

Loved this recipe. I changed 2 items. I did not have dates, so I used currants. I, also, used mixed candied fruit, instead of candied cherries and pineapple. The mixed fruit worked great. The cookies were very easy to make and turned out great!

This is a good recipe; I tweeked it a little to make my fruitcake muffins. My alterations are: 1. c granulated sugar .5c brown sugar 2. c unbleached flour .5c whole wheat flour 1.5c apple sauce 2. tsp orange extract 1.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1.5 c dried mixed fruit 1. c dried cranberries I spray Pam in the cups of a Texas muffin pan, fill the cups half full of dough, then bake them for 15 minutes. Moist and great tasting; this is a good recipe to work from!! Thanks Bonnie, Ron

This is a fast easy recipe that produces cookies everyone in the family loved! My hubby is diabetic so I halved the recipe and still got 36 good sized cookies. Due to nut allergies, I substituted raisins for the nuts and used a fruit/cherry mixture in the cookies. Thanks for sharing Bonnie!
