Frozen Horseradish Sauce

"This recipe, which dates to the 1920's, was my grandmother's. She served it with roast beef, but it would also be excellent with other beef dishes and sandwiches."

Original Recipe Yield 1 cup
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl combine the drained horseradish with the sugar, salt and mayonnaise. Fold in the whipped heavy cream.
  2. Freeze the mixture in a freezer-weight plastic container for at least 2 hours. Set out 15 minutes before serving.
