I LEARNED to make these brownies in 1957 in home economics class. They were the first goodies I'd ever baked by myself. Now, 40 years later, I still make a batch occasionally. The recipe calls for basic ingredients on hand in most every kitchen, and the rich chocolate flavor is delicious. -Lorraine Silver, Chicopee, Massachusetts

I'm one of those people who need chocolate on a regular basis. I looked high and low for a rich brownie recipe that called for cocoa instead of chocolate squares...and this is it. My family loves these brownies - they never last more than a day at our house. -Karen Trapp, North Weymouth, Massachusetts

Walnut Brownie Pie

This pie is like a thick, fudgy brownie studded with bits of walnuts. Sweetened condensed milk, butter and cocoa are heated gently on the stove and then combined with eggs, flour, vanilla and walnuts. This luscious filling is spooned into a prepared pie pan, baked, and served warm with fudge sauce and whipped cream.
