Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped salted peanuts
  • FROSTING:
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in oats and peanuts.
  2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Frost cooled cookies.
