This recipe does make cookies that taste like eggnog. I made several types of cookies last christmas and these were one of my favorites. Thanks for a great recipe that will now be a yearly tradition!

These cookies came out hard and chalky. They tasted good frosted, but very bland cookie. I will not be making these again.

Very tasty cookie! I used Bacardi light rum instead of rum extract, and used evaporated milk instead of half and half. Definitely worth making again!

I have never had nutmeg logs before, so I have no comparison. These came out really dry... not the yummy crumbly dry but the dry driness that just makes you think it needs more butter or something... it's a good idea but it would taste better in some crumbly cookie ball rather than these drab little logs. If you do make this recipe, though, make your logs about the size of your big toe or else you will have too many cookies and get really mad icing them like I did. They are not so horrible that I would not give them to people, but I am glad I have other cookies to offer as well.

These taste delicious! Next time I will probably use a cookie cutter just to make them prettier instead of making logs. I took one star off because, as other reviewers wrote, without the the icing the cookie is a bit bland. But with the icing, I call them Yummy Eggnog cookies! Also, the cookies were done in 10 mins in my oven, so keep an eye on them.

Fantastic! Just a couple tricks for icing use a fork to spread on it will leave a texture that looks like bark. Then sprinkle nutmeg over icing before it sets.

These were easy to make and the kids like them. I think they are okay. I used freshly grated nutmeg and only used about 3/4 tsp of nutmeg and it was still somewhat overpowering.

4 out of 5 because they taste great, but mine didn't hold their shape. There was no way I was going to be able to roll out the mixture as the consistancy was way to soft. So I put it into a zip lock bag, cut the corner off and piped it into logs on the baking paper. I think it was much quicker that way too! I ended up doing the piping bag trick for the icing too. I think it looked better too

These cookies really do taste like eggnog! I substituted real Gold Rum instead of extract. I didn't have any half and half on hand, so instead I mixed 2 T milk to 1 T plain coffee creamer. That worked really well and it tasted fantastic!
