Great recipe and really enjoyed the cake like consitency of these cookies. I agree, the frosting shouldn't sit for 20 minutes. I frosted them right away. Excellent with coffee or tea...hubby loved them!

Loved these soft, cakey cookies! The brown sugar gave them a little more of a chocolate-chip-cookie-dough taste - I may try them next time as a base for M&M cookies. I skipped the glaze and used Sugar Cookie Frosting from this site instead. Yummy!

I made these cookies today. They do have a strong cake like quality, which kind of threw me since I was expecting a cookie not a mini cake. However, it didn't stop me from eating them. Hehehehehe!!!! Mine did come out a little bland. I did use light brown sugar, like someone else did. Next time I'll use dark brown sugar and see if it makes a difference. The icing is a pain to work with though, which is why I gave this receipe four stars.

Easy to make, yummy delicious. Everyone loved them. I did keep the glaze on the stove warming so it stayed runny. Easiest to dip them in then let the cookies cool and set on cookie sheet.

These tasted great! The only problem I had was with the frosting. If you let it rest for 20min, it becomes solid and clumpy! I had to microwave it in order to be able to spread it on the cookies. Next time, I'll just wait a few minutes and dip the cookies into the glaze. The frosting will be more smooth that way, not clumpy. Oh, and I used light brown sugar, and the color was a little pale for me. Next time I will use dark brown sugar. But the taste was great! My coworkers raved about them and asked for the recipe!

These were a huge hit at our church pot-luck lunch. I undercooked them slightly and they absoultley melt in your mouth!

Made these cookies tonite for my husband and son and they absolutely loved them! I took the suggestion of another user and used a vanilla glaze instead of the suggested brown sugar glaze and they came out fantastic! Super moist, and not too sweet - just right! Like the previous reviews, they are cake-like so if that is not something you are into then this is probably not the best brown sugar recipe for you. I will for sure be making these again!! Thanks Loretta! YUM!

The cookie has a cake like texture, but it was good. The frosting cooled in a dry lump. I added more milk and then I was able to frost the cookies. The frosting dried up again before I had a chance to finish frosting. The whole cookie does taste like brown sugar. Maybe if you find a vanilla frosting, the brown sugar flavor would not be so over whelming.

These are soo good! They do have a cake like texture but it was exactly what i was looking for. I had some of these from an amish bakery a few years back and have searched for a recipe that tastes close to it, this recipe is even better! Thanks

These turned out pretty well. I didn't have enough butter for the frosting, so I used 1/4 cup of softened cream cheese instead (which I think tastes even better). To make frosting the cookies easier, I just let the cookies fully cool and twirled them in the bowl of frosting. The only downside was that these are VERY cake-like (not my favorite). Still, these were very good!
