This is the best recipe I have tried out thus far on allrecipes.com. The seafood and sausage and potatoes and corn...fantastic dish! It would cost a fortune to order this at our local restaurant...I believe it is $59 per person for this bucket feast. I absolutely loved this recipe and it is very versatile...I added more crab and shrimp to this dish. I also didn't have Old Bay, so I substituted it with 1/3 cup of a mix of seasonings I had on hand: garlic powder, black pepper, salt, taco seasoning, creole seasoning, chili powder, and also 1 bay leaf...came out fantastic. I would recommend this to all seafood lovers.

Don't think of this as tradional stew; this is a Southern take on the traditional seafood bake. I added 1 can of beer to the water, 2 cloves mashed garlic, a hardy pinch of kosher salt, and the juice of one lemon to the water. I made the traditional sauce of melted butter with a shot of hot sauce to serve with the stew. This dish is messing so serve outside, line the table with newspaper, and hand out plenty of napkins.

Divine!!! The corn was the big surprise--it soaks up the flavor of the Old Bay, and we couldn't get enough!

This is great for my family - a little something for everyone (including the member on the no-carb South Beach diet and the family "picky eater" that everyone has!). Used kielbasa instead of hot sausage - perfect!

This was particularly yummy. In my opinion a little kick doesn't kill it. The second time I made it, I added some cayenne pepper

Too bad you can't give out 6 stars because this recipe certainly deserves it. I did find that the potatoes needed more cooking time, so I simply pulled them out prior to adding my shrimp and cut them into 4 pieces to speed cooking time.

There are only two of us and my stockpot is only 12qts, so I just used what I had on hand: 1.5 lb shrimp, about 2 lbs potatoes, a pack of bratworst, and 3 ears corn. I used about 3 quarts of water + 2 cans of beer and threw a vidalia onion cut in half in at the beginning. Since my bf doesn't like a lot of old bay, but we do like things spicy, I used 1 zatarain's crab boil bag and 1/4 cup old bay. This may be too much spice for some, but it was perfect for us. Since I was using raw sausage, I browned them on the outside, then cut into thirds and added with the potatoes. Next time I will probably sub the little frozen corn on the cobs, since it was hard to cut through the corn cobs.

Wonderful recipe! I made it for Fathers Day and we all loved it. I was a little worried about the corn becoming tough from all of the salty seasoning, but it came out just fine- not tough at all. The hot sausage turned out to be a little too spicy for some of us, so I plan to use regular smoked sausage next time, or maby a mixture of both. All in all this is a super easy and satisfying recipe for a gathering!

I too added 1 head of chopped garlic, and added boneless chicken thighs along with the shrimp and sausage - very flavorful!! A little something for everyone in this dish.

Incredible!! I added a can of beer and reduced the cooking time of the potatoes by about 5 minutes. Everyone raved over the recipe. Thanks for posting!!

I liked this recipe. The seasoning gave the seafood a good flavor overall. I added tabasco for a little more heat. Very good!

This is a good recipe I have always cooked it, but didn't know what it was called. Instead of old bay I use swampfire seasoning. I also add blue crabs to my recipe.

excellent!!! if you live in the deep south try zatarains pro boil instead of old bay. just use enough corn, potatoes, ect. that you will eat using the same time method. throw in some garlic cloves when the sausage goes in. dont forget french bread!!!

This was awesome! It's a huge meal. I used my leftovers to make cocktail sausages, shrimp cocktail, and potato salad. Boiling everything with Old Bay was really good, and not too spicy. I'll make this again, but I'll definitely invite over more people to eat it!

Great recipe! It's your basic "Low Country Boil" but very tasty. I used a combination of smoked and spicy sausage since my husband and I have different tates but it all turned out really nice.
