Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 pound green tomatoes, sliced 1/2 inch thick

Directions

  1. Stir together bread crumbs, sugar, salt and pepper.
  2. Coat tomatoes in the crumb mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry tomatoes for 2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
