WOW!!! Hubby was soooooooooooo impressed, he said it tasted just like his mom makes, in fact he thought his mom did make it and sent it over, he couldn't believe that she didn't!!! Definately a keeper, will be making over and over and over, but next time without the gravy, the gravy was the only thing that no one really cared for.

So yummy and easy to make! My family is very picky eaters, so I was a little nervous about the spices. But they blended well and my fam didn't even know there was garlic in it! They loved this chicken! I didn't have paprika so I used seasoned salt which had paprika and garlic in it, (I added more garlic anyway). Turned out great! Thanks for the recipe! I didn't make the gravy.

I give the chicken a 5, but I would only rate the gravy a 3 at best. For some reason it never thickened up like I thought it should and I didn't really care for the flavor either. (For what it's worth, I am fairly experienced at making gravy, but I don't know what happened with this one.) The chicken was fabulous though. I used breast pieces cut into strips because it cooks faster (5-8 minutes each side) with less guess work than bone-in chicken. Also, with the egg mixture I used buttermilk, but it probably didn't make a noticeable difference in the outcome.

I am rating only the gravy portion of this recipe. I made fried chicken from another recipe on this site because I didn't want to do the whole wet, dry coating which I like, but just didn't feel like it. I did make the gravy and after tweaking it a bit, it turned out just fine. I used half milk and half cream. I thought the original seasoning was too powerful of a taste and maybe I added to much to the flour in the way of garlic salt. I just added some more grease from the chicken pan and then my husband raved about the mashed potatoes and gravy the entire dinner. I found it just alright and nothing extrordinary but it is easy to make. I will have to try this chicken recipe sometime although I thought the one I made was awesome. I learned great technique which is what I now believe makes the whole thing a success! Cooking in Crisco and covering it to finish cooking after browning are key. The other one had the same suggestions as this.

Excellent!!! This came out SOOOO good! I used chicken breasts and fried them in skillet for about 4-5 min. per side and then cooked them in a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 min. Mmmmm....Both chicken and gravy were PERFECT! THANK YOU!

I made this twice so far, and the family has voted this into the weekly dinner list. Great recipe simple ingredients. I use half the oil, and use boneless chicken breasts.

Awesome and very, very easy. I used garlic powder and seasoning salt instead of the garlic salt, being that I didn't have any. Instead of deep frying for all that time, I just did about 4 minutes per side and then put it in a 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes until it was done. Very good.

This was so good! The gravy, I was a little skeptical at first because of the ingredients. I mean, milk?? But it came out phenomenal! Don't change a thing! Used boneless breasts! Just make sure that the chicken breasts are pounded thin with a mallot. Also with the gravy, make sure you whisk it well or you will end up with the dreaded "gravy lumps"

This recipe was easy and very good. I like my crust a little saltier, but other than that it was great. The gravy was really good over biscuits.

Great chicken! But, if you're using a deep fryer, 15 minutes at 350 will do the trick - 365 seems to overbrown the crust.

The chicken was delicious! I think the gravey is really good, but I did not like all the spices in the gravey. I think using just flour w/o the spices (other than salt & pepper) would make the gravey much better.

I loved the flavor of the fried chicken, it was delicious. But the gravy I wasn't to happy with. It was my first time ever making gravy so that could have been the problem.

I made this for dinner last night, without the gravy, which is why I am only giving it four stars. I dipped it in the egg and flour as suggested. My family loved the chicken. I will make the gravy next time and then rate again.
