The older I become, the more I realize that a simple recipe made with great ingredients can be absolutely FANTASTIC. This recipe is OUTSTANDING. This may sound truly strange, but I'm going to make eggrolls with this cabbage recipe!

I loved this recipe! Way better than having plain old buttered cabbage!

Just ok for us. We didn't care for the bacon grease.

Very easy! I skipped the bacon and sauteed the onion in olive oil and garlic. Smart Balance light butter works too. I used plenty of salt and pepper and it came out quite tasty. I kept the lid on to speed wilting, and salted a few times more to get the flavor I wanted, and this is now my new way to make cabbage. Thanks for the recipe!

Was very good and easy to make. Though not all that healthy, as my husband (who hates cabbage) said, "everything fried in bacon grease is good"

Very good. I left out the onions and increased the bacon to 5 slices. I was worried that the vinegar would be too strong, but it was just enough to give the dish a subtle tang. I didn't think I liked cabbage until I tried this.

YUM! The more bacon the better! I followed the recipe except used red wine vinegar instead of cidar vinegar.

This was a good, quick, and easy cabbage recipe, but it didn't have a ton of flavor. I think it just needs a little more of everything (bacon, sugar, and vinegar) because the flavor the cabbage did have was good, it just wasn't strong enough! Thanks for a good recipe; I will probably give it another try!

Covering the cabbage definitely helps. 6 cups (about half of a cabbage) made enough for me to LIGHTLY fill 3 pita breads. Flavor was great. I used turkey bacon so I had to add oil to create "dripings". Will make again.

Very easy & delicious. I've used balsamic vinegar in it instead with good results.

My family really enjoys this dish, even my husband who dislikes cabbage. I like this recipe because it is good as is, but there are a lot of ways to change this recipe to suit whatever style of meal you are serving.

Excellent! My husband has NEVER liked cabbage his entire life and loved this recipe. I made this recipe with turkey bacon (we don't eat pork) and it was GREAT!

It was okay - I was a little disappointed but maybe I didn't do something right, maybe it needed more salt? I don't know...it just taasted like it was missing something, kind of bland. I would try it again but would probably throw in some garlic in the saute - something.

Excellent recipe! I didn't have bacon (just the crumbled kind), so I just fried the onions in some butter and then added the crumbled bacon at the end. I am sure that using the bacon drippings for frying the onion would make it taste even better! Thanks for the great recipe!

Sooo good! Only thing I did different was to add more bacon. Also I put out the vinegar and let everyone sprinkle on to there taste. Thanks for the recipe!

I made this just like the recipe called for and found it ok. I ended up making it a second time and fried it in the bacon drippings, added salt and pepper. I added sliced american cheese and covered for about 5 minutes. IT WAS DELICIOUS!
