This is great salsa!!! I omitted the cummin and added cilantro & lime juice. I also cut the peppers to 3 and the garlic to 2. Everyone in my family loves this! I am assigned to bring this to every family gathering now! My husband & I recently ate a great Tex-Mex restaurant and the salsa there tasted exactly like mine! DELICIOUS!!!

This recipe is okay, but not great. I don't know exactly what is wrong with it, but there is a funny taste to the liquid part, maybe because the tomatoes are canned. That said, I think 4 whole jalepenos would only be appropriate for someone who REALLY likes things HOT. My husband and I do, but I only put in one because I did not have four, and it was definitely a medium salsa with just one. Also, 5 garlic cloves seems like a lot. I am the biggest garlic fan going, but remember that this garlic is raw. I put in three and it was almost overpowering. I added black beans and corn to mine, and like the flavor they added.

I added some cilantro at the end, next time I will chop the cilantro first. The salsa was a huge hit, I couldn't get my husband to stop eating it - great recipe I am going to make more tonight. I think I will make extra and freeze it! Thanks

This is an excellent recipe! The only thing I did different was to drain the whole tomatoes, as we prefer a "thicker" salsa and I only used 2 jalapenos after reading all the reviews. DH took a double batch with him to work today and it was gone within 2 hours! Plus I got several requests for the recipe. Thank you for posting this superb recipe!

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical of using canned tomato products in fresh salsa, but decided to give this a try. Am I glad I did! It is delicious, easy to make, and tastes just as good as the recipe I have used for yrs. that calls for fresh tomatoes! I will make this often, probably weekly, being the salsa lovers my family is. Please try this, it is yummy!!!

This is a really good recipe and much better than store bought salsa. It is a spicy, but a good degree of spicy. If you want to turn down the heat, decrease the jalepenos to 2 or seed the jalepenos after they cool down from roasting. I would not omit the peppers because the roasted taste makes the salsa. I have tried this recipe with less jalepenos and 'as is' because I was nervous it was going to be too spicy. I highly recommend 'as is'.

This has possibilities, but my first attempt following the recipe exactly was WAY to spicy for us. This also makes a lot. Next time, I will make a half batch and use only 1 jalapeno.

Great salsa! My husband and I both loved it. It was a bit too hot for me, so when I pour myself a bowl I mix in some homemade ranch dressing and it tastes incredible! I couldn't find a 10 oz can of diced tomatos with green chilis so I bought a 14 oz can of diced tomatos and a 2 oz can of chopped green chilis. It worked! Next time, if I want to tone it down, I will only roast 2 jalapenos instead of 4.

This was a good salsa, but very very hot using 4 jalepenos. To try to cool it down I added a bunch of cilantro and an extra can or two of tomatoes. I served it at a party and everyone loved it.

Maybe too spicy for kids, but GREAT for us! From barefooting's husband: I love very spicy foods, so I add an extra 1/2 tsp of cumin and two serrano peppers, and I use the extra hot rotel diced chiles and tomatoes. about 1/2 to 1 full bunch of cilantro also works very well in this salsa.

Easy recipe, I make it every time my kids come home from college, plus extra for them to take home. I had to cut back on jalapenos and seed them. But great and easy recipe. Thanks

Great simple recipe. If you like the heat use the extra hot rotel tomatoes, just have something cold near to drink.

very tasty. i added more garlic and a tad more cumin. i think the addition of cilantro would have made it even better. super fast. needs a bit of time for the flavors to mix, but otherwise, two thumbs up

This is an okay salsa recipe. I was looking for the "perfect salsa" recipe, and this one misses the mark. It's definitely lacking something, and it is more spicy than flavorful. I probably won't make it again.

This is one of those recipes that's easily adaptable for any family. I did just that. I've made this recipe (or rather a hybrid of this recipe) more times than I can count. I'm just now getting around to writing this review. I've subtracted and added items to this recipe, and now I've got one that's uniquely our family's. I thank you, Kaylene for such a fabulous recipe that allowed us to find the perfect one for us.

Great salsa! You'll never need to buy salsa again w/ this stuff. I recommend draining the canned food items before processing if you don't want your salsa to be too runny

I have made this several times now. I took it to work and everyone raved, had to bring the recipe in the next day. The only thing I add is chopped cilantro. I like that you can adjust the consistency with adding or not using all the juice from the canned tomatoes. A truly great salsa recipe.

I am from the southwest and my family is pretty picky about salsa (a staple at almost all meals), but they love this! It truly tastes like you used all fresh ingredients. I didn't roast my peppers; I chopped (fewer) pickled jalapeno slices and added roasted red & green peppers for roasted flavor (in a jar from produce section of store) - it tasted great! Took this to one of my teenage son's functions - they have requested I bring it each time.
