Inlaws own the largest rhubarb producing farm in the state. So I know rhubarb. Made this last night exactly as written and my husband raved. He said not to change a thing! I did vent the top crust and sprinkled sugar on it before cooking though.

My mother-in-law has a gluten allergy and this is the only time she will eat anything containing flour! She says it is worth the inevitable reaction. We have an orange tree in the backyard and Sometimes I will add some grated orange peel and a smal amount of the orange juice for a different twist!

I make rhubarb pies for my grandpa about 2 times a year. He is always heavy with compliments! I don't add the butter and use a bit less sugar, he's more of a tart-pie kind of guy. Excellent! :)

Best Rhubarb pie ever! My father's favorite pie is rhubarb- he loved it! I added 2 tablespoons of cinnamon as the last step before the butter.

Wonderful! I only had a little over 3 cups of fresh rhubarb, so I added around 1 1/2 cups of sliced strawberries, then followed the rest of the recipe exactly. My husband loves rhubarb pie and said it was the best he'd ever had. I can't wait to make this again!

Dekicious! It was a bit runny the first night but one night in the fridge made it quite perfect! I had it hot and cold and both ways it was awesome!

This was great. I remembered my Mom's pies growing up..tart yet sweet...good eats! I started growing my own rhubarb planning ahead for my 'own' pies. My good friend (neighbor) had company come in from out west. I knew he had not had a good rhubarb pie for years because he always admired my rhubarb crop growing beside the house. I made your pie and took it over(I kept one for me). They all loved it...what was not eaten that night was consumed for breakfast the next morning. My daughter-in-law tasted mine (never had it before) and discovered a new love... thanks for sharing

This is a wonderful, fool proof recipe. I added 1/2 tsp. nutmeg to the sugar/flour mixture and it was perfect. Don't under cook or the pie will be runny.

This is the same recipe my mother used, and it is my absolutely favorite pie. It doesn't matter if you use the butter or not, and mixing the fruit with the flour/sugar comes out the same as not, since you put a quarter of the mix on the bottom crust and there is so much of the sugar-flour mix, that when you dump it into the shell, there's so much left over that sits on top.
