"In response to a request about how to make fresh squeezed orange juice. It takes a little work, but it tastes much better than orange juice from concentrate."

DIRECTIONS
Lightly smack each orange on the counter. Cut each one in half. Squeeze into a glass. You may also use a citrus reamer to do this. If you want less pulp, use a hand juicer with a strainer.

You can extract more juice per orange if you microwave the orange first for about 10 seconds

This is excellent. It certainly doesn't need added sugar :) I did it by hand with a reamer which can be a little tiring on the wrist, but not bad. I don't like to use the microwave when I don't need to, so I boiled water in my teapot and let the oranges sit in the boiling water for a minute. Then I rolled them around on the counter until they felt softer. I plan on making this often!

Very very nice! Definately Better than the cartons of it! If you don't want the 'bits' in the drik you could try putting it through a sieve.

My husband usually makes fresh squeezed orange juice in our house. His favorite way to make is by using the hand juicer.
