OMG, this is a simple & delicious recipe!!! I made the mistake of making only half of the recipe and it was gone is a flash! I did cut the water in half and left out the dill because we don't care for it. Next time I will try adding onions. Thank you for this great recipe!!!

Used Chef4six's variation and substituted agave nectar for the sugar.

I left out the dill also ... After we used up all the cucumbers I reused the liquid and put black olives, cucumbers, onions, and cherry tomatoes in it... The family loved that

This was nice and refreshing and gave us something different as a vegetable side dish. I let it marinate for about 8 hours. I had to use dried herbs but it was still good. This is a keeper!

I found this kept fresh a long time, but, I think I would cut back on the sugar, as it was a little too sweet. Sure took the "burps" out of the cucumbers though.

Oh wow! I can't say enough about how good this is! I've always made them just in vinegar and water. This is definitely my new favorite. YUM!

My family is not big on cucumber salad, but I enjoyed the change from the creamy dressings... I will keep the recipe.

My mother gave me this recipe a couple of years ago...she found it in a magazine but is uses thin slices of zuchinni-which we are always trying to use up! i love onions so i do use a large sweet onion with the dill-my recipe calls for 1 teaspoon dried dill. super good!

I've made this for years and love it. If you combine the vinegar and sugar in a pan over low heat the sugar will disolve much better. I add a few sweet onion slices as well.
