This was great. I didn't change a thing about the recipe other than to use a little less sugar than called for. This is one dish that really seems to be much better the next day.

FANTASTIC! Made this for my mom with 1/2 the amount of sugar & mayo; dried cranberries instead of raisins; apple cider vinegar instead of white wine vinegar. She said she wouldn't change a thing. I mixed the mayo/sugar/onion the night before. My husband thought this made the onions lose their "kick," so next time I will set aside a few raw onions to sprinkle on his serving only. (The rest of us loved the sweetness.)Used only 8 slices of bacon and it could have used more, but overall, delish!!! Will make this again and again!

This is a very good recipe for the tried-and-true broccoli salad. I substituted green onion for red, dried cranberries for raisins, and almost doubled the bacon. It was delicious!

This was just perfect. Thank you Nora. I skipped the onion and halved the sugar as suggested by other members. What a wonderful combination of flavors.

I grew up eating this salad! It is my husband's favorite now. It is also a great way to get kids to eat broccoli! Try it with sunflower seeds instead of almonds!

Love it, love it, love it! Everyone at our BBQ loved it and many asked for the recipe. I mixed the mayo/vinegar/sugar with the red onions the night before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I then added the other ingredients the morning of. This kept the broccoli fresh (not soggy) but helped the onions relax. It tasted perfect!! Just a side note - I added golden raisins and roasted sunflower seeds.

This is a fabulous salad! I had had this type of salad before, but had never made it myself. I found this recipe and decided to try it out for a potluck luncheon at work. Everyone loved it! What wasn't eaten up at the luncheon was packed up and taken home by my coworkers.I cut the amount of sugar in 1/2 as suggested by other reviewers, and used sunflower seeds and mixed raisins. [black, golden, and red] Great presentation and flavor! This salad rocks!

This is a very sweet version of the broccoli salad. I cut the sugar to 2T and the mayo to 1/2 cup; combined with TOASTED slivered almonds, this was a lighter version that allowed the flavors of the broccoli, bacon and almonds to shine thru.

Thank you for the posting, was a big hit dinner last night. I did as other suggested and used craisins, did not have white wine vinegar so used red wine vinegar. One head of cauliflower and one of broccoli. Will definetly make again.

Wonderful recipe! Modifications: 1/2 c. mayo (instead of 1 c.), 1/4 c. sugar (instead of 1/2 c.). I did not have raisins and used dried cranberries which colored the salad beautifully. This recipe is a keeper!

FRESH EXPRESS USED TO SELL A BROCCOLI SALAD AT MY LOCAL GROCERY STORE AND MY FAMILY LOVED IT AND ASKED FOR IT ALL THE TIME. SOMETIME LAST YEAR THE STORE QUIT CARRYING IT. THIS RECIPE WAS EVEN BETTER. I DID OMIT THE ONIONS AS I DON'T LIKE RAW ONIONS AND I SUBSTITUTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS AND CRANRASINS. THANKS FOR THIS RECIPE I WILL DEFINATELY BE MAKING THIS AGAIN!

This is pretty good as written, but I've changed it up to suit my family's taste. I leave out the red onion...we just don't care for it in there. U also use red grapes, halved, instead of raisins. Also, sometimes I will replace 1 head of broccoli with 1 head of cauliflower. Thanks for the recipe!
