This recipe was very yummi. I used an entire package of bacon, left out the raisins and took sunflower seeds instead of almonds. I found the salad too sweet though, so next time I'll cut back on the sugar or leave it out completely.

This was a big winner, even tho our Cardinals lost...Boy was I glad I TRIPPLED the recipe for the Super Bowl party yesterday. Mine was the ONLY salad/veggie at a party with a good 25 people. It got scarfed. I did modify a little. Based on a couple of other suggestions, I added extra Vinegar--DON'T!! it made the dressing turn very watery while it chilled for 3 hours. Next time I will follow the measurements. I used half Sour cream and half mayo and it was lighter and tastier too. I used Cranberries, sunflower kernals, and for this triple batch I added most of a whole bunch of sliced celery for extra crunch and a bit over 3T of Sweet Hungarian Paprika from Penzeys. Also some grinds of fresh blk pepper, and replaced half the sugar with Equal (the blue stuff) I had a really large red onion and it smelled pretty strong when I cut it, so I diced it really small, and blanched it under running water from my little boiling water tap--30 seconds max, then shocked under cold...I also used a total of only o1 lb of bacon to six big bundles of brocolli--no one complained there wasn't enough bacon. I bought the cranberries dried at my local store in bulk and the sunflower seeds that way too. Brocolli was on sale and I made a huge vat of salad (probably about 3 gallons) for under $20. Everyone asked for the recipe and even the men went back for seconds. All I had was some juice and stray sunflower seeds left. Will make again fore sure and will try All Equal instead of sugar next.

This was a delicious salad, everyone at my daughter's birthday loved it- even my very picky mother!! I took other's advice and used red wine vinegar. I also used light mayo and lessened the onions by 1/3. I will be making it again for other parties!

I love this salad! I put a head of califlower and a cup of peanuts in it as well. My other suggestion is to leave the bacon and peanut until you are ready to serve. I like the crunch it give the salad.

This was pretty good. I liked the variety of flavors - the sweet, salty, crunchy -- it all worked really well together.

Yummy! I used turkey bacon, chopping it with my pampered chef chopper. Also used chopper to dice up some almonds. Cooked white onions in pan after removing turkey bacon - careful, there is very little grease, mostly just stir around to pick up flavor. Also used chopper to dice cooked onions. Very flavorful and would be GREAT at a BBQ. Oh yeah, I also added 1.5 cups of cooked tricolor pasta.

I made this recipe for company, unfortunately both of them did not like broccoli, so they never even tasted it. At the time I was disapointed, but now I'm thankful, because I have eaten the left overs for supper, breakfast and lunch since. I honestly cannot get enough of it. My husband loves it as well. I can't wait to make this for people who will taste it. I think even people who don't like broccoli would like it if they gave it a chance. I did make one substitution to the recipe by adding cauliflower, and ommitting some of the broccoli.

Really very tasty recipe. I halved the bacon for health purposes, but was still very flavorful - bacon goes a long way. I also used craisins instead of raisins and used fresh lemon juice from my lemon tree. The flavors are amazing!

Delicious salad. Made this for Christmas. I made exactly with exception of a little less mayo and sugar and then added a TSP more of white wine vinegar. This tastes better after a few hours in fridge as the dressing had time to enhance its flavor

We love this salad! It's easy to make too. The only things we do different are we use craisins (dried cranberries) instead of raisins and we use salted sunflower seeds instead of almonds. Highly recommend!!
