This is really yummy as is. For a slight change of pace, I use the prepackaged shredded broccoli (for "broccoli slaw") instead of chopping up broccoli, use sliced scallions instead of red onion, throw in some seasoned croutons, and add a pound of cooked shrimp to make it into a great main dish. As one reviewer suggested, using pre-made bottled cole slaw dressing is just as good as making your own. Anything to save time. I also prefer the dried cranberries to raisins. Another suggestion: those lightly sugared smokehouse almonds add a really good flavor, too.

This was very yummy. I followed the recipe to a "T" and next time intend to make the following variations to our taste. Double the bacon, use 1/4 of the raisins stated, and add some nice cos lettuce leaves with a bit of salt and pepper and some grated parmesan cheese. It was very nice as is and the kids ate raw broccoli for the first time!! With the substitutions I will be giving it to hubby for work lunches during Summer.

Easy to make and everyone loves it. We like it made with or without the bacon.

I do not like broccoli, but I love this salad. The only problem is every potluck we go to everyone asks me to bring "my" (your) broccoli salad, I never get to bring anything else!

I made this salad for a dish to pass event, everyone loved it! The combination of the veggie with the sweet of the raisans and the crunch of the nuts is wonderful!! Will make again and again.

This salad is FANTASTIC. Served it at a beach picnic this summer and both kids and adults loved its sweetness. I used Miracle Whip instead of real mayo; worked fine. They were begging for more at dinnertime!

All I can say is WOW! I honestly never thought I would like this salad, but it was excellent! I made a few modifications: 3/4 cup mayo (red. fat), 1/2 an onion, 1/4 cup sugar, and used malt vinegar because that's all I had. My hubby and I loved it! Thanks so much for a new favorite!

You can save time by using pre-made slaw dressing (lite is fine). Adding dried cranberries instead of raisins give a hint of tartness that tastes great.

We loved this salad. I made it lower fat/calories by substituting FF for reg mayo and Splenda for sugar. Also, used both golden & dark raisins for a more colorful presentation.

This was very good but very sweet. I will use 1/4c sugar next time and limit the onion to a 1/2 c.

A good alternative to the usual sunflower seed, raisin, and bacon variety of broccoli salad.

GREAT salad! It tastes awesome. I made it for a potluck gathering and it got rave reviews. The only downside is that it does not keep overnight - the tiny bit of leftover that I had the next day was soggy....

Wow! This is delicious! We cooked up the onion slightly before combining with the rest of the ingredients, added walnuts instead of almonds, and reduced mayo to 3/4 cup. Next time we will try red grapes in place of raisins (I'm not a big fan of the raisin).
