Wonderful! We used all the spices and with a nice thick wheat bread and it was sooo yummy. Also tried with regular sliced white bread I just did a quick dunk with these and it turned out great and wasn't soggy! When they were done we sprinkled some powdered sugar on top added a little whipped cream and syrup it was to die for!

Very delish! I didn't even have thick bread and it still turned out great. Although one minor issue is that the egg doesn't mix well with the milk. Every couple of bread dips, sprinkle in a little more cinnamon!

I love French Toast! This classic recipe is great. I left the nutmeg out and actually sprinkle cinnamon on the bread while in the skillet because it floats on the top of the bowl and only really coats the first couple pieces if mixed with the egg. I also used butter instead of oil and sprinkled the top with powdered sugar! Mmmm...

This was really delicious! I used all of the spices, omitted the salt, and used a loaf of cinnamon chip bread. YUM!!! The hubby gobbled it up like there was no tomorrow.

Loved it! Perfect ratio of eggs to milk. The only change I made was to cut each piece of texas toast into 3 slices, thus, french toast sticks. Delic!

This was easy enough for my 9 year old granddaughhter to make AND excellent tasting. She could even flip the toast in the air to turn it.

Easy and flavorful! I used a little extra cinnamon (LOVE cinnamon), and just a dash of nutmeg, and cooked it in butter instead of oil. Perfect blend of ingredients! I didn't have thick bread so I made sure each piece was just dipped in quickly on both sides without soaking real completely, and it cooked up just right.

This was a very nice recipe. I really think you need the spices. I am giving it 4 stars because I didn't really care for it my husband and children gave it 2 thumbs up. I think I may have used too thick bread for my taste! :)

Excellent! I almost gave up on making french toast, but this was great! Perfect. I will be making this again definitely! A great basic recipe. I had mine with the cinnamon syrup (recipe listed on this site) and it is GREAT.

This is a great basic french toast recipe. I like the added vanilla...never did that before. Also, a pinch of salt...hadn't done that before either. The egg to milk ratio is great.
