This was easy enough for my 9 year old granddaughhter to make AND excellent tasting. She could even flip the toast in the air to turn it.

Easy and flavorful! I used a little extra cinnamon (LOVE cinnamon), and just a dash of nutmeg, and cooked it in butter instead of oil. Perfect blend of ingredients! I didn't have thick bread so I made sure each piece was just dipped in quickly on both sides without soaking real completely, and it cooked up just right.

Perfect :) Powdered sugared goes great with it instead of syrup.

This was a very nice recipe. I really think you need the spices. I am giving it 4 stars because I didn't really care for it my husband and children gave it 2 thumbs up. I think I may have used too thick bread for my taste! :)

Excellent! I almost gave up on making french toast, but this was great! Perfect. I will be making this again definitely! A great basic recipe. I had mine with the cinnamon syrup (recipe listed on this site) and it is GREAT.

This is a great basic french toast recipe. I like the added vanilla...never did that before. Also, a pinch of salt...hadn't done that before either. The egg to milk ratio is great.

This was a good basic recipe that you can really get creative with. I soaked my sourdough bread slices (flipping them once) for about 6 hours. It wasn't super-flavorful, but I will just have to keep experimenting with different spices. But, I will be keeping this recipe, thanks.

Very good. I made this with low-cal bread which is thinner than regular, but it still tasted really good. I also didn't add the salt in because I hardly ever add salt to anything. Will make again with thicker bread to see if it makes the difference!

I usually stay away from french toast recipes because I hate the "eggy" taste and they never seem done. Well, hubby loves french toast so I decided to give this a try. I am grateful for the lid tip! These came out great! No "egg" taste here. I also added brown sugar to a batch and it was also great. I will definitely use this recipe again. This is a great basic recipe. I'm sure this would be even better with raisin bread or topped with fruit and powdered sugar! Update: I;ve used this many times now and the results are always superb! It deserves 5 stars for ease and taste!
