I used this recipe; but I didn't make the little sandwiches. I was a little worried, because I thought that without any sugar they would be bland. They have a lot of flavor though and taste so good by themselves . I'm definitely going to be trying this again. (:

Yummy! My daughter and I thought this was the bee's knees! We grated a little chocolate on top for added delight!

Yum! I've never had much success with French Toast, until now! I added some cinnamon and a splash of vanilla to the egg mixture. I used light cream cheese and a bit of honey for the filling. Very good.My 4 year old loved them. I can't wait to make them for my hubby this weekend. Thanks for a great recipe Mavis!

Very good! My 15 month old gobbled them up. We are always looking for new recipes to try for quick brekfast's and this was great. I did find that I needed to hold the edges on the griddle for a quick second to seal the fingers and get rid of the sogginess on the sides. YUM!

Very tasty! My 1 1/2 year old loved them. I will use less preserve next time and do a "quicker" dip. I did notice some sogginess. Will definately try again.

Success! My 2 year old and 4 year old loved this recipe. I used a whole wheat bread and a thin layer of jelly...they held together fine. I also quickly cooked the third and fourth side of each "finger." My girls ate them with yogurt a small amount of powdered sugar on the side. (They love being able to dip & make their own "recipe"!) We will definitely be eating these again. Thanks!

Love this recipe. Used Apple Butter in the middle instead and a touch of cinnamon to the batter. A very light taste not too sweet for those of us that prefer a lighter taste also used Vanilla yogurt as a optional dip. Very Good

Yummy! I used to make grilled pb&j's as a kid. The added egg toast gave them the perfect kick. Plus, once I found out I didn't have enough bread, I just threw the extra batter on the grill for some great scrambled eggs! Thank you.

This was a great addition to our Christmas brunch. I made the bread a bit soggy though and next time I make it, I will "dip" as the recipe suggests. Easy to make and gives a nice presentation.

These french toast sticks were just ok for our family. They seemed gooey and the only flavor that came out was the strawberry preserves. Maybe I put too much. The kids didn't really care for them. However, they were really easy to make and I will try them again.

I served this with tomato soup for a lazy Sunday dinner. I made 1/3 with strawberry preserves, 1/3 with lemon curd, and 1/3 with nutella. I dusted with cinnamon, too.

Very nice concept and good flavor (we used it one morning when we had a hankering for French Toast but no syrup et al in the house), but this might work best with stickier storebought breads (like Wonder) - we used a bakery challah and the 'fingers' just wouldn't 'stick' together in the pan. Tried cooking the whole piece then cutting into fingers, but the big one kept falling apart, too - ended up eating it as on big piece and it tasted great. Thanks.

These are great and so easy to make!!! One suggestion: Try these with Nutella (it's a chocolate (hazelnut) spread that can be found by the peanut butter in your grocery store.)The strawberry preserves are good, but the Nutella -out of this world!!!!!
