These were a hit with my hard-to-please 8 year old! As pointed out by other reviewers, "dip" is the key word; I left the first few pieces in the egg mixture too long, but fixed that with the next few pieces. I added cinnamon and vanilla as suggested by other reviewers as well. Turned out great! Thanks for a quick and easy breakfast my daughter will eat!

Effortless and delicious – good enough to serve to company. I thought this was very good, however I did use some incredible peach jam that I purchased at a farmer’s market which I’m sure added to the great flavor of this dish.

I love how versatile this recipe is. Sometimes we do Peanut butter and jelly, sometimes cream cheese and jam, anything works! Love it!!

This was our second shot at breakfast this morning as our first choice tanked. As a rule of thumb when I make french toast, I add 1/4 cup of milk per egg. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla and a quarter teaspoon each of cinnamon and nutmeg and my own homemade strawberry-banana jam. I used my super fine handheld strainer to sprinkle the confectioners sugar over the top. The kids thought this was great. No leftovers.

Very good. I made these for a full house this morning (visiting family) and they were a hit. You don't need to make a lot of these, and I'm of the opinion that you don't need syrup or sugar--the preserves make them sweet enough. So easy, a good use of leftover bread, and the amount of egg mixture was perfect. All in all, something I'll make again when we are at home. And I'm not the biggest fan of french toast, but this worked for me. Thanks for the recipe!

I made this for breakfast for my kids today. I used Nutella instead of jam. They loved it.

I halved the batter and added vanilla for our 3 sandwiches. My 5 year old loved this and so did I! My bread wasn't old so I sat it out uncovered at lunch time and it was ready to use at dinner. We also did 1 with peanut butter and it was even yummier.

Yum! My daughters have been on a French toast kick so I decided to try this to change things up a bit. They loved it, as did my husband and I. We've used homemade peach preserves, too, and that was very good. I used low sugar strawberry spread so it wouldn't be so sweet, but as is, it's an excellent and simple recipe.

I tried to make these healthier so I used fat free creamer instead of regular milk. For the filling I used fat free cream cheese and pumpkin butter since I did not have strawberry preserves. ( I had a bunch of pumpkin butter left over from another allrecipes.com recipe.) Very good! Next time I want to try it with cream cheese and strawberry preserves. I am sure this will be added to my weekend breakfast routine, thanks!

Great recipe! I love french toast and this was an easy and delicious new way to prepare it. All I added was a little vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to the egg mixture. I used Smucker's low sugar strawberry preserves, but I think you can put any of your favorite preserves in side and it'll taste great! When they were nice and crispy I dusted them with powdered sugar - a really nice treat for breakfast!
