so simple and yet delish. i used 2 cans chicken broth - all i had - and it was ok - definitely missing the depth of taste beef would have given it. i will be trying this one again soon as written!

Very easy recipe and delicious!! This was the first time I ever tasted French Onion Soup. My dad who's had it at numerous restaurants said it wasn't quite French Onion, more like just onion soup...either way he loved it!

This was soooo good! Just like the kind I used to get at the Hyatt. I changed it up a bit. I added fresh garlic to soup, used a blend of shredded swiss and mozzerella and made garlic croutons out of french bread. I put the croutons on top of soup, then cheese on top of that and broiled the bowls of soup. It was excellent!

Followed the recipe exactly but was not happy at all with the flavor. It was watery and bland. Maybe I didn't caramelize the onions long enough.

Added some spices to the onions before adding the broth. I also let the onions cook for about 35 minutes, instead of the 20 the recipie called for. It came out pretty good for a begginer onion soup. My boyfriend said it was yummylicious.

This is a great tasty soup! It's super easy to make. Like other users I modified the recipe just a tad, I sauteed the onions (and a garlic clove) in 3tbsp. butter until soft, I then added a little flour to thicken, added boulllion, water, and worcestershire. A wholesome and hearty soup that stands on its own and makes wonderful leftovers!
