These rolls are freakin good!!!!! MMMMMMMM....they just melt in your mouth. Finally a roll that's not dense. Follow the recipe exactly and you'll get perfect rolls. Also brush some melted butter on top to make these even more wonderful!

These rolls wer wonderful! They reminded my family of a recipe from our Aunt in VA. whose recipes are always, " a handful of this and a pinch of that..." We brushed the tops with melted butter before the rolls had risen. This is the recipe I've been looking for. THANQ!

A lot of work for not so good rolls. No real flavor, just tasted like flour and water to me. Will keep trying to find that great recipe.

i loved these! what a great crust and wonderful texture on the inside. i wasn't able to give it a proper second rise, so i can only imagine they would be even better. i used AP flour. thanks for the post!

I made these for Christmas and we really enjoyed them. I used my bread machine to mix the dough. The rolls were very big. Next time, I will probably make more than 16.

I don't know what I did wrong or who else reviewed this recipe, but they most certainly did NOT turn out well. The flavor was not only bland, but it was bad.

I have made this recipe four times. Now, I reduce the amount of water and add milk. I also add more sugar. The recipe by itself is very nice, but the addition add an extra kick.

These were a hit at Thanksgiving, so much so that I was asked to make them again for Christmas. My only comment is that they were a very mild flavor, which might be great depending on what you're looking for. This time I'm going to follow another reviewer's advice and double the salt and sugar. Also, it's important that you kneed the bread for the whole time, you wont regret it! Other than that, this recipe is a keeper.

Pretty good rolls, a little too sweet for my taste - will probably only use 1 tbsp sugar next time. Update: Kept same amount of sugar, used 1/2 cup milk and 1 cup water instead of 1 1/2 cp water. Bread turned out much better that time, more fluffy and tasty!

These are wonderful! I made these for our Thanksgiving dinner & I've made four more batches since. They make great little sandwich rolls too. *I made the dough in my bread maker.

WOW! These were great. My oven burned the bottom of them. I have a propane oven; so, I will move the rack up further, use parchment paper, and turn the temp down some in an effort to prevent this from happening again. BUT, the taste was great, I did the egg wash and sprinkled a little coarse kosher salt on top to give them a saltier flavor. YUMMY. I will make these again, often.
