This recipe is wonderful and it is true that they even come out of the freezer still crispy. Thank you!

I couldn't believe how easy this was. This was my first time making pickles and I admit I was nervous. But this was so easy!!!! I put sliced yellow and red bell peppers in the one bowl to try it. And it is all delicious!!!!!! Next batch Im going to try it with splenda, since I am diabetic and should not have all the sugar. Just Awesome!!!!

So sweet and crunchy! My mother gave me an old recipe that was very similar to this one but, I used this one instead since the instructions were a little more detailed. I added less onions than called for but, that was just personal taste.

This recipe is wonderful. So much better and easier than heating up the kitchen with a canning pot for pickles that turn out mushy or wrong. I added dill seeds. These pickles were the best!

Yummm...I can't believe they stay crunchy like they are. I thought it would be bland not using spices but the cider vinegar really gives it a great flavor compared to the white I usually use with cucumbers and onions.

This is a wonderful recipe. I made one change and that was because didn't have 4lbs of cukes, so I used 1 lb of pickling cukes and 3 lbs of small okra... this came out just wonderful. I think will experiment on other vegetables that are becoming plentiful, like yellow squash, zucchini, etc. Thanks for submitting this recipe, since I have become disabled and can't can things like before, this is easy to do and just as good. Kudos

Sooo Good. I would give it a five, but if I change something I only give a four. I cut my cukes in half and scrap the seeds out with a spoon. Then cut into bite size pieces. I added a Tblsp. of Pickling spice(in cheesecloth) and reduced to 20 servings for only 3 or 4 regular size cucumbers. I refridgerate them and eat this all week long. Really tasty and so easy!!

I too was very sceptical but figured I may as well try it. We absolutley loved it,it's even better after being frozen, if they get that far. And like everyone else I mucked with the recipe as well, but not with the flavour. I swithched it from slices to spears. I sliced the cucs into spears, beat them about in the bowl for awhile to get rid of the seeds, then rinsed and started the recipe. They are a great alternative to chips or pretzels. I also tried the same recipe with green cherry tomatoes and they worked out great although none of them have made it to the freezer so I don't know how that works out yet. You just can't use the ones that are really small and green, they are still too bitter for the sugar to win over. Anywhere close to full size is O.K.

My mom has made this recipe for years. It is a family picnic favorite. She always added thinly sliced green peppers and a tablespoon of celery seed. Great make ahead side dish.

These pickles taste great and are so easy. They're a hit with friends. I've used the recipe to teach others how to make easy pickles. The difference with mine is that I put them in the fridge. Also, I add peppers (mild and/or hot) to them to spice them up. I have used both regular vinegar as well as the apple cider vinegar - both work well.

I, like the person who submitted this recipe, had doubts about freezing cucumbers too, but decided it looked easy enough and went ahead and tried it. These were actully very yummy, despite my mistake of giving a few to my children before they were thawed. I think the apple cider viniger is important in this recipe because it adds an extra kick, which the pickles need. Also a little less water and more viniger gives the pickles a stronger flavor for people who would perfer tangier treats! Thank you for the recipe!
