Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 cups butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Refrigerate for 1 hour. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in almond extract. Add cornstarch mixture and beat until sugar is dissolved and frosting is fluffy. Frost cake immediately; store in the refrigerator.

i used a serving size of 4. instead of 1.4 cup butter, i used 1/8. lso, i used unsalted butter. MORE
