Some 17 years ago when I was in my early teens my American Grandma was visiting us in Australia. While she was here she made a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. I have NEVER forgotten that cake, it was that good. So I finally decided to have a go myself. I followed this recipe exactly and the frosting turned out brilliantly. Delicious. Will DEFINITELY be making this again!

This recipe is to die for! We all loved it.....I did follow the review of Cyndie Schneider for the perfect results....please look for it for the perfect Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting! The only change I made was to use milk instead of heavy cream. This frosting was so peanut buttery, creamy, fluffy and totally spreadable. I had no problems with gritty-ness, greasy-ness or anything else. I topped a 9x13 dark double fudge cake (boxed mix....Duncan Hines of course) and had beautiful results. My friend just texted me for the recipe! A winner! Thanks!

Just like my mother always made! My mom used to make this frosting on chocolate cake when I was a child, she usually added walnuts to half. It's perfect! I used all generic ingredients and I had no problem whatsoever. The frosting was fluffy, easy to spread and just the right mix of peanut- butter -sweet!

My family loved this!!! I used this to top brownies and it was awsome! This recipe made it into my cookbook. I think the key to getting this right is to add the milk as needed, I had to add about a tablespoon more. Also make sure you whip it good and it will be smooth and creamy.

I've tried making this twice now. It ALWAYS comes out greasy and with a horrible texture, like play-dough flavored like peanut butter. I've read the other reviews and tried adding cream to it, etc. It's just a mess! Oh, and don't try reduced fat peanut butter. It's even worse. Don't bother with this one.

This frosting, to me, tasted like peanut butter fudge. I used it on a layer cake, and it was difficult to spread. Not because of stiffness, but because it didn't want to adhere to the cake. It was a little rich for me. I used it on a chocolate cake (made with chocolate pudding) and it pretty much took over the entire cake. I probably will not make this again.

Delicious! I used this frosting on a dark chocolate cake (two 9 inch pans). I used about 1 1/3 cup confectioners sugar and a 1 1/2 cup Wegman's peanut butter. I also substuted heavy cream for the milk.

If you like peanut butter, this frosting is for you! It was absolutley delicious. I put it on a chocolate cake made from a box mix and it transformed the cake into a chocolate, peanut butter masterpiece. I read many of the reviews which made me a little paranoid that I was getting myself into something too complicated, but I followed the recipe exactly, except I might have added a tiny bit more milk. (I just added milk until it was the consistency that I desired.) I would agree with all of the other readers- the key is to make sure the butter is room temperature. If it is, it just blends right in beautifully with the peanut butter. I have no idea why some people thought it was greasy. Perhaps as one reader suggested, maybe they used bargain peanut butter? I used Skippy and I see other readers used Jif with no problem. This recipe was fast and easy to make. I will never put ready-made frosting on a chocolate cake ever again!

This recipe was easy to make and easy to eat too! I added one extra tablespoon of milk to make it a little thinner, but it would have been delicious just as the recipe stated. It wasn't greasy at all!

Excellent recipe! Whip for longer than you might want to--it's worth it! Add more liquid if necessary--recipes won't necessarily be exactly how you prefer them. I thought it worked out VERY well and went nicely on brownies topped with a mini-reeses. YUM!

This by far is one of the best frosting/icing recipes I have made. I can never get them to turn out right. I followed the recipe like it said and let it whip on high speed on my Kitchen Aide for a good 3-5 minutes. It is very tasty, even the dogs agree! (i let them lick the whip!) I am now waiting for the brownies to get done baking so I can try it on them. Thanks for a great recipe. *UPDATE* So yummy on the brownies! I had quite a bit left over so I put it on sliced apples. I always like peanut butter and apples for a snack, but this was even better.

Turned out perfect, I halved the recipe and also added a couple of tablespoons of REAL maple syrup and tsp vanilla. I also used heavy whip cream in place of the milk. Fluffy and yummy!

YUM!!! I am a peanutbutter FANATIC and this was AMAZING. Perfect blend of sweetness and peanut butter flavor. I used it as one of three different frostings I used on banana cupcakes (recipe also from this site YUM). I had enough to frost 22 cupcakes and I have half of it left! Brownies here I come! (or i might just eat it with a spoon)
