Very good. I did not have a problem with the frosting being greasy. As for substitutions, I softened both the peanut butter and butter and the butter in the microwave before mixing. This eliminated the need for any milk. I also used just a little more peanut butter than the recipe calls for and sifted through the confectioners sugar while adding it to make the frosting extra smooth. I served it on top of mini brownies and it was a hit! Will definitely use again!

Good Recipe. Made it in by Bosch and didn't even need the milk - fluffy and perfect.

I made the recipe as written. I like peanut butter...I really do as does my 11 year old - who, 'mind you, likes EVERYTHING sweet...and most everything not sweet. But even he said no thank you to a second cupcake. We did not care for this recipe at all. I guess you have to practically LOVE peanut butter to tolerate this frosting. I really wanted to like this...it's just overpowering on devil's food cake.

I followed this recipe exactly other than I halved it. I used JIF peanut butter and real butter and it turned out perfectly. I did not have the oiliness that oters talked about. This is a simple recipe tht tastes fantastic on top of chocolate fudge brownies.

If you like peanut butter you will love this frosting. Easy to make and what flavor. I put it on the "Brownie Batter & Cupcake=The Second Best Cupcake. Ever" recipe from this site. It is fantastic on them.

I also made this recipe and it flopped the first time. It was very oily and thick, almost like fudge before it hardens. I re-made the recipe, this time using butter instead of margarine. (The recipe calls for butter, but I substitued margarine the first time.) With real butter, the recipe turned out awesome!

This was really greasy and grainy. I didn't like it all. Maybe I did something wrong.. I don't know, but I won't try this recipe again. This was my first time trying a peanut butter frosting though and it just didn't turn out. To try and fix it I added some chocolate ganache (for the cake I was making) and more powdeered sugar.. it turned out better but it was still very greasy. I will post a picture of my cake..

Very yummy! I didn't measure anything exactly how the recipe says. I mostly just "eyeballed" what looked like a cup of powdered sugar or tablespoon of milk until I was happy with the consistency and it turned out extremely delicious. Oh, and I only made half the recipe and it was just enough for 24 chocolate cupcakes.

Excellent recipe. Simple and the finished product is divine. The peanut butter flavor is just right... not too strong, but definitely there. I used this to frost Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever from this site. Great combination. Thanks! :)

I cannot figure out what I did wrong!! I followed the recipe exactly as written and came out with spot-on flavor but a very peculiar texture. I don't know if my hand held mixer just couldn't get the job done or what but the flavor is amazing enough that I'll try it again!!

GREAT RECIPE! I am not a frosting fan so I thought I would try this since it is said to not be as sweet as typical frosting! LOVE IT! Had to throw the remainser away after repeatedly trying to eat it straight with a spoon!!! I will say that I added much more milk than the recipe called for. Definetly do as the recipe states and slowly add the powdered sugar and milk. Then just keep slowly adding about 1 tbls of milk at a time until you reach your desired consitency. I think I ended up adding about 7 tbls.

Made this today and really liked it. I did add a bit more milk to make it like I wanted it. I even used a lower quality peanut butter. Yum....goes really good on that Devils food cake I just made.

Soo amazing! I didn't think it would be that good with only a few ingredients, but it was so stinking good. I added too much milk because one review said I would need more than it called for, but that made it thinner than I wanted. Even so, it was still the best frosting I've ever had or made.
