THANK YOU!!! Finally a truely "fluffy" pancake. I did use honey instead of sugar and butter instead of shortening. Fluffy and delicious!

These were very good. I did have to add a bit more flour for ours. Some people prefer their pancakes thin, some thick, so it's really a matter of preference. I let the batter sit for about ten minutes in the fridge before I made them, and I think that made a huge difference as far as fluffiness.

I have a trusty pancake recipe that I've used for the past few years, and we thought they were the best ever. I must say, this recipe outdoes my trusty old one! These were light and fluffy...perfection! I doubled the recipe and added pure vanilla & milk chocolate chips. I topped with buttermilk syrup from this site. Pure delight! I'll definitely be making again. Thanks for sharing!

These pancakes were great. I made a few changes to them. I used whole wheat pastry flour, 2.5 tsp baking powder, 1 cup milk, and 1 tsp vanilla. This is a good base recipe that I cannot wait to try different things with. I will try to use vanilla yogurt next time (I use the yogurt instead of buttermilk in cake recipes).

People are being far too generous with these pancakes. Yes the pancakes were fluffy as advertised, they tasted pretty good, and the recipe itself was also easy to follow and quick to prepare. Unfortunately the pancakes taste just like the pancakes made from a box mix(like Aunt Jemima). I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I'm not searching the internet trying different pancake recipes just so I can end up with something that I could have made in half the time and ingredients by using the premade mix in my pantry.

My new favorite pancakes!!! I did make two changes: I used my healthy butter, Earth Balance, instead of shortening, and I had to substitute 1/2 and 1/2 for the milk because I was out. YUM YUM YUM, and the family loved them!!!

We LOVE these pancakes!!! We always double the recipe (I am feeding 4 kids here!) I always use butter for these, not shortening. I am about to make a batch of them right now, and I am going to try using buttermilk since I saw that some other reviewers did this. I can't wait to try them!

These were very good pancakes. I took the advice of other reviewers and used butter instead of shortening. I served the pancakes with a strawberry topping.

I made these tonight for dinner using buttermilk and whole wheat flour. They were so fluffy and very delicious. I have a family of four with a couple big eaters so I had to double the recipe. Next time, I will triple it to have more to stock in the fridge. They are SO easy! If you are new to pancake making you will find this recipe pretty easy. I did sub oil for shortening. I can't tell if it were to make a difference b/c I have only made them this way. I didn't have any shortening. I never use that stuff! I also added a drop or two of vanilla because that's how my dad always made them. The batter was thick because of the buttermilk. I used a little extra buttermilk and then thinned the batter a TINY bit using a couple teaspoons of water. The buttermilk gives them a more homestyle, old fashioned flavor! These were fabulous!

We love this recipe, but we've tweaked it a bit...instead of shortening we use butter- MUCH better tasting and also add a Tbsp of vanilla.

Excellent! I changed the Crisco for butter and I also added about 1 to 2 tbsp of vanilla. We love the extra sweetness. I do recomend for a family of 4 to double the recipie though.

I thought the recipe was ok. Mine were flat flat and were browning pretty quick, even on a number 1 setting on the gridle. I only added 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe so that should not have made them go flat. Sorry i'll look for another.

I don't ever have shortening, so I did what the everyone else did: used 1 cup of milk in place of 3/4c and 2 tbsp. oil for shortening. These are awesome.

These were very easy to make when you have little time. I used self-rising flour since I didn't have any baking powder. They turned out very fluffy. The kids loved them. I will most definately make theses every Sunday morning.
