I made these for the daycare kids, doubled the recipe, used oil instead of melted shortening, and powdered milk instead of whole milk. The kids raved about them, they are great, even with the substitutions.

Very good! My only issue is the fact that the mixture is sssooo thick that it`s really hard to spread. I had to use a spoon to spread it, but worked out good in the end anyways :)

I changed the recipe but I used those general amounts of dry and wet. I used marg, soy milk and whole wheat flour and added chocolate chips. Next time I would add oats for some of the flour but they are really good and easy. Thanks!

YUM! I had to use butter since I didn't have shortening, used 2 eggs whites instead of 1 egg and added a splash of lemon juice. Perfect!

This is the best pancake recipe! I have a couple others that I've tried and the pancakes never come out fluffy enough. The only change I made was using butter instead of shortening. They still come out really good.

This is a great basic recipe! Yummy and fluffy! I use melted, cooled butter instead of shortening. My favourite flavour is bananas and cinnamon! The only complaint is it really doesn't make the quantity it claims.

Best home recipe I've found to date. Not quite as 'fluffy' as restaurant cakes, but very very good. Try this one out.

We were not crazy about this recipe as it stands. I made it exactly as stated using butter flavored Crisco for shortening. We thought they resembled pancakes out of a boxed mix and didn't have the flavor and texture or homemade pancakes.

Followed recipe exactly and they were not fluffy and didn't taste good. I will try to make them again and edit my review if next time they come out good, but for now they are not!

This recipe is just excellent, producing truly fluffy pancakes. It even forgave me for forgetting to melt the shortening first. To make up for my error, I just used a handmixer to blend the ingredients well.

These are SO GOOD! For the last few months, since I got a griddle, I've been searching for the perfect pancake recipe for our family. I tried this today making a few modifications (3/4 cup whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup white; butter instead of shortening; extra 1/4 cup water) and my family LOVED it. It's a keeper.

I wouldn't say this recipe was fluffy. They were very moist from the shortening, but dense.

I love this recipe. I use oil instead of shortening. And I find that the pancakes are even lighter and fluffier if I don't press on the pancake after turning. I would recommend this.

These pancakes were delicious...perfectly light and fluffy. I only had skim plus in the house so I used a half of a cup of that along with a 1/4 cup of heavy cream. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla to the batter. Thanks for a great recipe!

These are delicious! I also used melted butter in place of the shortening, and I used light soy milk for the milk. They turned out extra fluffy!

These were pretty good. The batter was really thick, but I think the pancakes still came out fluffy. I wasn't completely wowed by the recipe, so I'm gunna keep looking for better recipes. Nonetheless, I would make this again.

These were the thickest fluffiest pancakes I've ever had! I will add vanilla next time though, or add more sugar. No more bisquick pancakes for my family! No sir!

This is a family favorite. Perfect no matter the size you make them or the topping. It's often asked for dinner too! Also, I multiply this recipe by 3 (sometimes more) and freeze the leftovers, even after heating in the microwave they taste fresh and the boys love them.
